I just found this forum and I'm so excited. I've been going on the Thinner Times Forum but there's not many people who post that have had the VSG. I'm suppose to be having the VSG on May 21 but I'll find out for sure on Monday. I was going to get the RNY but have since changed my mind due to many long nights of studying all the options out there. I would love to hear from everyone who has had the VSG because I have read all the educational material out there but I haven't been able to speak with many people who have had it. I feel peoples personal experiences are more reality then text book info. I weigh 257 pounds I just recently gained 9 pounds and luckily or I wouldn't have qualified for the VSG with my insurance company. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much I will lose per month I know that everyone is different but still curious. Also, I would like to know how bad the pain was right after surgery. There are a few people who had VSG, but they don't pop up often here, either. There may be Yahoo groups that focus on VSG. Also, ObesityHelp is a very large forum, much larger than here, so they probably have a VSG sub section, I think it's worth checking out.

From what I know, the rate you lose is not much different from RNY, both the speed and the amount.
