Default Two Weeks Post Op!!!

Hi!!! Today is my two week anniversary!! Boy!! I totally underappreciated the recovery time for bypass!! I went to the doctor and then stopped for groceries (for the full liquid diet), was slow going at best but I was so exhausted afterward that I took a 3 1/2 hour nap!!! I had a dreadful time immediately post operatively in the hospital with pain control, but once they found the right drug, I felt much more comfortable. I also ended up with an incisional infection but antibiotics cleared that right up. Now, it's just adjusting to the diet. For the first time I actually feel hungry and am missing eating! But, 30 lbs off so far! That's exciting and my blood sugars have really improved, so all seems worth it, at the moment anyway. At times, I still wonder if I did the right thing. I know I did, but I guess at times I just feel sorry for myself and want a damn Subway!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi I am so with you, I am 5 weeks post-op and although I feel good right now I have my good and bad days. I still have gravings for real food, I am still on the soft/puree until next week. I think when you can't have something you want it even more, then when you can have it, you don't think about it as much. Thats what I am hoping for anyways. Great job on the weight loss that in itself is something to keep you going.

Welcome

Darla

I think at 2 weeks out I was having buyers remorse but it passed and I am happy to say I am pretty dang happy where I am now. As for the actual hunger it may just be head hunger. I am almost 10 months out and have just in the last month or two felt real hunger, most of the time I think I am hungry I am not, usualy I need to drink. Hang in there it gets better

It's all about routine...and getting things in line....it takes time to figure it out...what you feel now is head hunger....it will pass...get out and get active as soon as your surgeon releases you!
