Default 3 week post op appt. and other life stuff

Well some of you know I had an MS flare up that started last Friday. I decided with my surgeon to go ahead & do the IV steroids. Today was my last day of steroids and thankfully I didn't have much hunger (which is a concern w/steroids) Also, my leg is getting much better so I know I made the right decision. I have not slept much in the past 3 nights because of the steroids, but I feel real good. I have been real lucky that I have had as much energy as I have the past 3 weeks, considering that a lot of people have lack of energy. HANG IN THERE EVERYONE! So steroids and lots of awake time have made my mind wander and freak out a little bit. Last night was my fear of facing people at work, and thanks to so many of you, I have calmed down and today, I am getting excited to go back to reality and face challenges.
My appointment went well today. I have lost 26lbs the past 3 weeks, 42 since Feb 1st. I am off of my blood pressure medication!!! What an exciting realization. Just another reminder I did the right thing. My Doctor is thrilled with me and my attitude. We had such a wonderful talk today. I told him that I wish I could see the surgery and he is going to arrange it. We just have to get the patients consent. That isn't something that everyone would want to do, but trust me it excites me. So I have been on protein drinks, sf jello & broth for 3 weeks and finally got the go ahead to eat soft foods. I was so excited that made some refried beans, ate 3 bites and was full. What a weird feeling that was. I have been tripping out about that all day. Then I was thinking...gosh what else do I want...ugh wait a minute I haven't had much protein today. My head hunger was getting to me as I was so excited to eat ANYTHING. Well I came home had my protein drinks and am full again. Now I am concerned how to get all the protein in and still eat something. Weird mind games I am going through. I have to figure out how to balance all of this & that is a challenge. Another thing is to get in my thyroid pills and vitamins so they don't conflict with each other. I wish that I could afford to be off work another couple of weeks to concentrate on it, but I broke my ankle in January and used up 3 weeks of sick leave. Oh well, I have always done my best work under stress. Another positive about this weight loss, is how much better my ankle feels now that some of this pressure has lifted. It is amazing and wonderful. Well I apologize for rambling (steroid symptom) but I also want to journal so I can remember my beginning. Thank you all for being here.
My goals for this next week:
Pill management & timing.
Getting back to work
Physical Therapy/Exercise
Keeping up with protein/food management

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You are doing absolutely great! Keep up that good attitude and the hard work will def pay off! You will "find your way" in the WLS journey, what works for one may not work for you. Good Luck.

It looks and sounds like you are doing wonderful. I had a Stepmother who had MS and I know what you mean by flares. Im glad you have a way to help you though them even if it is steroids. They are good meds....yes with some side effects but they dont last forever. You have did a great job on losing weight. Pat yourself on the back sweetie.
