Default Full Liquid Phase Question

Hello everyone-
I'm 8 days post-op and need a little help with the full-liquid phase. Specifically, I've been eating every cream soup imaginable and protein shakes. I tend to have a savory taste bud- believe it or not, cake, candy etc. I simply do not like too much. I'm so sick of soup and I don't think I will ever have another milk shake again as long as I live This whole liquid phase is pretty much ALL sweet food and it's been really difficult- I'm craving for savory foods- no more sweets

Is there anything else I can have during the full liquid phase? Do I really need to wait for 3 weeks before I can have refried beans, tuna etc?

Does anyone have any suggestions- I'm going a little batty. thanks so very much

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Sorry to hear that you have 3 weeks of liquids. Each surgeon has different rules. I was sent home on mushy foods and actually ate refried beans on the way home from the hospital. Can you add a bunch of water to the beans and turn it into bean soup?

I'll tell ya, pre-op I never had egg drop soup, but that really became a favorite of mine afterwards. I know it's still "soup" but still a little different in taste. Just hang in there, I know it's hard to do, but this will be the last thing you remember once you get going on regular foods!!

I was allowed grits and malt-o-meal for liquid phase- if you are allowed these it may mix it up a bit.

I also lived off of egg drop soup at that phase. I also had my mother-in-law's chicken soup which is a clear broth type soup and that helped. Needless to say you are going through the worst part of Post - Op but it will be over eventually.

Have you done Sugar Free popsicles or SF jello at all, I used those for a change up at times, I can sympathize with you I had to do two weeks before surgery and two weeks after, it will get better, I know it gets sickening just hang in there. I also did broths loved the vegie broth it was a little different. Thats what I had done.

I was allowed "soupy" instant cream/wheat and/or instant oatmeal. That helped. 1/2 packet per serving.

Cottage cheese mixed with a touch of ff yogurt made me feel better. I took a chance and added a squirt of Tapatio (a pepper sauce) for some spice. I ate that two times/day.

I hear ya, sister. I am only 2 weeks out and my surgeon just gave me the go-ahead for blended foods.
