| Big Loser |  Anyone even remember me? Yeah, its been a long time, and by now, I'd hoped to be here saying I've had surgery. Sigh. It HAS been a long time. As you may or may not know, I moved in January, and injured my back, being told I would need surgery. Well, my agenda was for weight-loss surgery this year, NOT back surgery, so I was off work, doing physical therapy, anything to avoid back surgery - which I was successful at. I did not have a computer for a long time, because this is my work computer and I worked at home, my home having moved, I was not able to get DSL through the company my work needed me to have, so on top of being off for physical therapy, I was off working with the union, fighting for my job. I worked onsite for the month of March and the word finally came down. My options were to quit or move. That would be move again, which I was not about to do. But I did move...I moved my desk and all my work stuff into my boyfriend's mom's basesment. So now I am back at work, working at my boyfriend's mom's house. And my son went into a 35-day inpatient drug rehab program Monday. Tonight will be the first time I can see him since Monday. That all got really wild. It is a really parent-intensive program too - plus when he gets out, he will have his ARY (at risk youth) petition turned into an ARY Drug Court and I will have to be off every Friday to accompany him there - which means I will be working every Saturday. So while I avoided back surgery, this is the year of drug rehab and I'm not sure when this year I'll be able to have the weight-loss surgery, though I still have some vacation time left and after Family Week at drug rehab will still have 4.5 weeks of FMLA, so maybe I can still make it happen. It isn't like I've given up - just had to do a few other things first. And of course, now I need it more than ever. You know how some people lose a lot of weight and waste away when they are stressed out?.... ....well, I'm not one of those people. I've probably gained 40+ pounds in the last few months. I'm really hoping to get a handle on things and get back on track at working toward my goal. I have an appointment with my doctor next week to try to do that. But I just wanted to say hi and let you all know that I haven't disappeared and I still think about you all all the time. And now that I have a computer again, I can get inspiration from you all once more. |
