Default Hello!

Hi I'm new here and just wanted to introduce myself. I have a scheduled surgery date of June 30, 2008. Im very excited as my life has been put on hold for the last 3yrs. I have been unable to do anything due to my weight. The worst experience was going to the movie theater. My husband and I bought the tickets, the snacks (like i really needed it) and went to get a good seat, well I couldnt fit and it was horribly embarssing. To make matters worse the theater was packed. uggh. So I'm ready but a little scared, somehow I feel a little unprepared, It seems like it's happeing so fast. I hope to hear from some people who have already had the surgery and what they did to prepare. thnks much

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I just wanted to say Welcome! This is a very interestng journey, but I don't know if it's possible to really prepare for this other than to read a lot of old posts and see what you might expect. 99% of what I knew about this surgery going into it was from what I read on here. Information is the key and if you have that, then you have more than most!

First of all welcome to the boards. Im Vickie. What I did was reaseach research research. I got it in my head to follow the surgeons directions. He knew alot better than myself so I followed them precisly. As far as buying stuff to prepare honey.... I really personally wouldnt buy to much. The one thing I would say to get is small containers to keep your left over food in. Its a great money saver and yes you will have alot left over.

Vickie said it best...do NOT go out and buy stuff now because your tastes will def change after the surgery! Get a few small things and give them a try. Oh yeah...welcome and good luck to you!

Ugh, I know what you mean about theater (sportscar/airline/fine dining) seats! I bought tix for the LA revival of "A Chorus Line" for my daughter and I. I wanted center, but the theater doesn't have aisles, so it is "excuse me, pardon me, sorry..." 30 times to a center seat. I settled on front row balcony so at least I won't be hitting backs of heads with my belly as well as laps with my hindquarters!

You will have a BUNCH of questions answered here, even before you knew you had a question! Just stay tuned.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome! Best advice, start reading past posts from here, then as you go along and start to understand more, ask questions - for us to just throw stuff at you would make it more confusing. Congratulations - you are starting a whole new life!

Welcome to the site, you will find alot of helpful things on here, look at the old posts, do some research. Like the other ladies have said that it is hard to fully prepare for this surgery, just do as your surgeron suggests and you will do fine. Good luck with your surgery and a speedy recovery after. Looking forward to read about your journey.
