Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | and I'm 23 days pre-op! It's been a long hard road from me... once I decided to get the surgery... I went through all most all the testing (needed a chest x-ray) and my insurance no longer covered it... so I had to go on my husbands insurance and retest! 2 YEARS... but it will all be worth it. I'm actually looking forward to my 30th birthday ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thanks Doc... I'm a little bit more nervous than excited, but I'm sure that is to be expected. I will have tons of questions... seems like this is a great support group and I look for the help get and can give yes... that's one of my pugs... she's the elder pug (a rescue that came in blind and with cancer 2 yrs ago), Symber. She's out lived her death sentence by a yr and 6 months and is happy and strong... a true inspiration. Thanks for the warm welcome

| Whipper Snapper | I'm so glad that I found this site. I have been researching this for just a couple of months. I had gastroplasty surgery about 20 years ago. I lost about 100 lbs. and kept it off for about 10 years. One husband and 3 kids later, I gained the weight back plus. I never considered gastric bypass surgery because I figured if I screwed up the last surgery, who's to say I won't screw this one up too. A smart person told me that I need to consider the fact that, the last surgery gave me 10 good, happy years, and if gastric bypass gave me at least that many more it would be worth it. So I have been seriously giving it some thought. I am tired of being depressed, my knees hurt, my feet hurt, and who knows what else. I don't go out into the public much anymore, I don't like the disapproving looks that I get. I am self loathing, can't stand to look in the mirror at my 287 pound body. So my first step is to go to the meeting at the hospital. That's 3 weeks away. Not sure if I'm a candidate since I have had a wls in the past. Wish me luck. |

| Super Moderator | Miki, (((((((HUGS))))))) What counts most is your determination to lose your weight and be healthy. As fr1endly2 says, it won't hurt to look into it. Good luck!!

Height: | Hey Pugmama...welcome. I hope that you come back and hang with us soon. I love pugs... they are so cute. I have a neighbor that has two pugs that are adorable, and I miss them since they are away while her hubby is deployed. Hopefully they will be back soon though. I love playing with her dogs, but don't have the patience or finances to have my own right now. Janae |
