Default Greetings from GERMANY! (newbie wannabe)

Hi everyone,
I'm very encouraged by all of your stories. I have NOT had the surgery, although I am very seriously considering it. I have an appointment tomorrow. I am 43, new grandma (OMA in German) and mother of 4. What can I say about my weight that you all haven't felt or heard. I'm at the tail end of my disgust and depression..and am hoping that I make the right decision. Has anyone been in therapy afterward to curb the emotional eating triggers? or any other reason that might be helpful...without violating your privacy of course.
Thanks so much.
Janet

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome Janet.
There are many that do go into therapy for their eating afterwards.
In fact, I am looking into finding a good person for myself.
If there is anything we can help you with or answer any questions, please feel free to ask away!

Welcome to the site Janet. How do you like it in Germany? There is always the possibility that I could end up in Ramstein Germany since that is an Air Force base that is big for my husband's job. I have had the surgery in April of this year, and I am currently trying to find some help in the therapy aspect right now. It is hard to find ways to outlet your frustration now that you can't eat. I did start to replace eating with exercise, but now I am trying to rest an injury and have noticed myself lashing out and swearing a lot more than usual. I told my neighbor that the less that comes into my mouth...the more swearing comes out of it.

Hey Janet. Welcome to the board. You will find great advice and answers to your questions here. I am a year out, and still get great inspiration from so many people here.

Where are you in Germany? I have a sister in Cologne. I hope to go visit there someday soon.

Hope to see you here posting often. S

Hi Janet and welcome. I actually have a therapist and tried starting before the surgery but the surgeon beat me to it. just kidding but i did have the surgery before I could get in. It is really helping me with so much, still have the blues but I have her so I know when they go from the blues to anything that might be more serious. SO far so good, and I am 5 weeks out today. Make yourself at home. I am married to a German man and my mother in law is off the boat from Germany.
