| Cub Reporter | I'm a new member! I was surfing the web and found this site so interesting... I'm currently waiting to have the surgery... I was almost there and found out I was H plyoric positive and had the endoscope rescheduled for 4 more weeks!! I'm 30 yrs old 5'1 and 208 lbs......Still sexy of course... But, I honestly think the surgery is pretty safe.....Believe me, I still pray that when my time comes .....for the surgery... May GOD be on my side.......I have two little ones. I worry? I have questions: Which protein drink would you recommend? Where do you get your Vitamins? How long did it take to start taking pills? average? How was the day after surgery? Leeja

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I am 9 1/2 months out, have lost 92 lbs and I still crush all pills. Just seem to do better that way. My surgeon says whatever works. I use 3 different protein drinks. 1. slim-fast low carb vanilla (in can ready to drink) 2. GNC Pro-Performance Protein 95- banana flavor 3. Pro-Stat 64- wild cherry flavor (get it from my surgical center) I had no complications from surgery and was up walking 4 to 6 hours after getting out of recovery. I had some pain but not so much that it was completely unbearable. But that's just me. Some people feel pain more intensely than others. Personally I had worse pain after my first C-section. I took the chewable vitamins from GNC for the first 3 months as they worked out to be better money wise than the flintstones chewables. but as long as the vitamins and minerals contents are the same it probably wouldn't matter. Ask your surgeon or nutritionist what they perfer you to use and go from there. Read the labels. I am 53 years old, 4' 10" and started at 242 lbs I now weigh 150 lbs. I feel great and am 100% healthier. My total cholesterol on 4/12/05 was 281 and in July 05 it was down to 150. My blood pressure runs around 120/66. I no longer have trouble with acid reflux or sleep apnea. So if I had it to do all over again I'd do it in a heartbeat. The only thing I'd do differently is I wouldn't wait so long.
