| Weight not coming off??
I had my gastric bypass one month ago. I have lost 22lbs and am very proud of that but...I eat everything that is in my book and it's almost all protein choices. I don't see my scale move. I've lost 5lbs in 3 weeks. How is that possible? There is so little food going in my body and I'm not losing. What am I doing wrong or does everyone go through this and this soon after surgery. I thought that first month or so the weight was supposed to come off fast?
Thanks

It is very normal. Your body has just gone through a major surgery and is trying to heal itself. Plus, eating so little is actually putting your body in a survival mode so it wants to hold on to each little bit- Keep on your program, and you will see the pounds start dropping. It's an ebb and flow- you just gotta roll with it. Continued success to you-

I went through the same thing. I only ate protein and what I was suppose to. The question is, are you getting enough protein? I stalled for two weeks, until a friend told me to get a minimum of 60 grams/day. I couldn't eat that much so I added two protein drinks/day to my regimen and the weight started coming off fast!! Also be sure to exercise as much as you can.
Good luck.

I was right where you are! I thought, "I have to be doing this wrong", and posted so often, I thought I was being a major pest! You are in starvation mode with so little calories, but that will change soon. Definitely eat all of your protein and drink all of your liquids. Supplement with protein shakes when needed. It will definitely come off, just takes a little time. Good luck on your journey!

Your body is still healing right now, and readjusting to your new plumbing, so holding on to everything it can. Give it time, and you will start losing soon enough. A year from now, you will be sure to marvel where you're at.

You are right about the time for the first stall. We all have gone through it and all of us have panicked just like you are. Don't worry, it will start up again. You haven't done anything wrong.

I envision the beginning of this journey like a roller coaster ride. Right now you're on that first big hill, almost at the top. Hang on now because you are just about ready to go down that first big hill! There be more slow downs during the ride but they are always followed by a drop. Have fun!

You're totally normal! I think a lot of us hit a stall at 3 weeks to 1 month out. As your calories increase, the weight will start coming off. You're doing great--hang in there!!

make sure you're getting in your protein, and water. It may sound weird but the same thing happened to me but as soon as I started eating and drinking my water and protein the weight just started coming off. Just like that. At one point my weight had stayed the same for almost 3 weeks. But be patient because it will happen!!!! Good luck and keep up the great work.
