Default Just need some info.

I'm 2 months out. Havn't lost anything in about 2 weeks. But have lost 46 lbs. Most of it was the first month. I'm not sure what is going on. I've been having some swelling in my feet which was a problem before surgery. I'm trying to think of all the things that might be keeping the water in my feet. I am not able to walk a lot because of my knees. One has been replaced and the other is in very bad shape. I know I'm not getting the exercise I need but just not sure what else is going on. I'll tell you what I've been eating and maybe that will help.
B- Protien Shake
S- Veggie chips with cream cheese
L- 3 hot wings Just the little half with ranch dressing
S- S/F pop cycle
D-Alot of times I kinda snack veggie chips, Maybe a popcycle or 2
I never measure anything.
Please don't try to spare my feelings I need the truth and need your help to get on the right track and I want this soo bad. I want to be under 300 soon, Thats only 9 more pounds.
Thanks ya all for listening and your help.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Watch the chips and dressing...you are talking a lot of carbs and fat.....focus on protein 1st, veggies 2nd and carbs if there's room. You have already gotten a great start with losing, so you are doing the right things.....just keep an eye on the carbs!!!

I welcomed you in another thread, but we're really glad you are here....a lot of people post their diets every day....that will help give you some great ideas of menu items to try etc...

I agree with Kath, watch your diet. I think you are eating alot of sodium --chips, wings, ranch dressing. Try to stay clear of the snacky food--that's what got us in trouble to begin with. Think healthy things, protein first, veggies, then if you have room include some carbs, but very little. Try eating more fish, chicken, salads, veggies. You've done great losing what you have--wait till you see where you can go!! Keep your eye on the prize!! We're here for you sweetie! You can do this!!

I was thinking carbs and salt also. Try to eat a little more basic...protein like fish, chicken, even beef - if you need to kick it up try turkey chili...
no offense, but wings and ranch dressing (maybe it was just that day...?)
shouldn't be an everyday type of food. If you can try to eat a little more fresh too. Good luck! Post what you eat on other days so we get a better idea where we can help.

Yes, watch out for salts and carbs, and also rich types of gravy and sauces, they contain a lot more fat than you think.
You need to stick to protein first veggies next carbs last and water water water.
Salt will make you retain water, so that could be a cause of your ankle swelling.
Keeping track of the actual nutrition value of what you eat through online tracking sites like www.fitday.com or others, may help you align the kinds of food you choose.

Welcome to the board and to the losers side of the bench. I also agree with everyone on here, watch out for the chips and the rich dressings. Go back to the basics of food, I have found out that my stomach does not do good with processed meats, so I eat most of my meats from scratch. I practically lived on chili the first few months, becasue I hated the taste of food at that time, the stage where you are at now. Chili is about what tasted the best to me at that time and a few other foods. Now when I made chili, which I got the idea from one of my nutrionists is to use pinto beans instead of pork and beans. That really cut down the carbs and tastes just the same as the pork and beans and I also did not use tomatoe soup, I used tomatoe sauce. I think I have the recipe on the recipe site. So there are ways to really cut down the carbs and still enjoy good food.

I agree with the others, in addition I would remove the skin from the wings. I am 6 weeks out and cannot have fats yet.

Snacking is what got us into this mess (along with other stuff)...make sure your snacks are protein rich with low carb/fat.

Try snacking on vegetables (NOT the chips) with fat free ranch or slices of hard cheese. Toss the chips and cream cheese for the time being.
