Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | You are very welcome Janae. And may I say that is a great quote at the bottom of your post. It is one of my favorites. Glad to have you join us. I had my surgery April 27, 2005. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I hope you get a quick insurance approval, and have an uneventful surgery experience as I have.

Height: | Thank you both, I guess that I was mainly looking for something like this so that when I get obsessive I have more people that understand....lol. Lately it seems hard to function much while I wait for things to happen that are beyond my control. I've already attended two support group meetings, the consult with surgeon, a visit with a nutritionist on base, and a psych evaluation. I am going to have my gallbladder ultrasound later this week, and then there isn't much for me to do besides fester and obsess until my doctor's get their stuff in gear and send the needed letters to my surgeon. My husband is in the Air Force so I have military insurance. Supposedly the only requirement for them to cover the surgery is to be 100 lbs overweight. I have a BMI of 48 and more than enough co-morbidities, it is just the patience that I lack. hugging ya back Janae |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hey Pillows.... You are the reason I found this sight...believe it or not! I was searching I think thru blogger...and found your post about star jones - was that you?? If I'm off - sorry. ![]() Anyway...regardless...I too am waiting...and it sounds as if we've gone thru all the same "requirements"... I've had an EGD, Sleep test, stress test, psyc eval, nutritionist, numerous apts. w/ my Primary care Dr....and he just finished the letter to my surgeon this week. Supposidly my surgeons office is sending all the requirements to my insurance company TODAY!! Now, my waiting begins...they say that it will take 2-4 weeks for a response...and then we can schedule my surgery. I'm hoping to be in on March 31 st! But like Leeja said...."everything happens for a reason"...and I may have to wait until the end of April. (My surgery is going to be at the Barix Clinic...and my surgeon only does surgeries there the last week of every month...) Keep us posted when your surgery is scheduled!! Deborah~

Height: | Hey Deborah, that is great that my post about Star led you to this site, believe it or not, it indirectly led me here too. I was researching to find out what stars had WLS and it led me to a link, that led me to a link, that led me to here. I don't remember what the other links were, cuz once I got here it felt like home. I hope that you get approval soon since I can totally sympathize about the whole waiting game. Just hang in there, and realize that I actually started this whole process clear back in the begining of November. When I started I remember thinking that I would never be able to wait this long to have the surgery, but here I am. It sounds like you should know soon though. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope that you stick around to let us know how it all turns out. I can't wait to see some of your after photos. Janae |
