Cool New to board and pending insurance approval

Hi,

I am Terry. I considered weight-loss surgery several years ago after a doctor told me I would be a candidate. I was not done trying everything else yet, so I decided against it. Now, I have lots of medical problems caused by or worsened by excess weight. I now believe this surgery is my only hope to a quality life. Many people are against this surgery, I have found. They seem to believe it to be an "easy way out". I know this is the opposite of fact, but it still ticks me off. I have decided not to make the issue public. My husband is supportive of me and of the surgery. He has gone through the same transitions I have in not wanting me to have it and now believing it to be necessary.

I am interested in learning from all of you...of seeing the various stages and having support through the process.

Glad to be here,

Terry

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi Terry, welcome to Renewed Reflections. Hope we help you with questions you might have. Sounds like you have done some research online about WLS, and now is the time for you. I had health issues myself--high blood pressure, high Cholestrol. back surgery, knee surgery, and Fibromyalgia. I must say the surgery has made such an improvement in my life that it's amazing--I'm off BP meds, off Cholestrol meds.,my knees are so much better, and sometimes I forget I have Fibromyalgia. My husband and I go out dancing at least 2-3 times a month (and my knees don't blow up in size or hurt anymore) If this is for you you will know it deep inside, you will want it more than anything. Glad your DH is supporting you, that's so important. And you don't have to mention anything till after, if you choose to, good luck.

Welcome ... You have found the right place. Do a lot of reading and learning. That is what I did. IT has been the best choice I ever made. IT is so worth it. So many people just dont understand WLS. It is by no means the easy way out but it is a way that will work if you stick to the plan... good luck...

Welcome and just to tell you there is no easy way out. If you do not follow the plan your doctor sets for you, you will regain the weight. Also Perfessor has a great way of putting the easy way out comment to bed.
