Angry Feelings...

I am 10 days out and I feel like I am not losing any weight. Suddenly I am scared that I won't lose the amount of weight that is expected. Then I will feel like a loser the second time around since this is a revision. Anxiety is kicking in major for me.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I had the same feeling. After 10 days I stopped losing anything and felt like I'd never lose any again. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. The scale will move. Try not to depend on it for feedback. Look ahead. Concentrate on how you're going to live for the next 6 months. Visualize what you're going to do and how you're going to do it and how good you're going to feel.

Let your body heal first, since it's a revision, it's going to take a tad more time than first time around, but it will surely come.

Please don't feel like a failure. I was where you are at that point. My surgery was 3 weeks ago today and I've lost 14 lbs since surgery. The first 13 was w/in the first week and a half. I stayed the same for the last week or more, then today I finally broke the 233 lb and went down to 232. I'm hoping it'll be continual loss for awhile.

What I did start noticing was... my clothes were much loser. My clothes that were snug before surgery were suddenly fitting me perfectly. Yesterday I had some kahki pants that were snug before surgery w/my belly ballooning above the waist were now actually a bit big. So even though you don't see the scale moving.. other things are. You're healing.

The literature that my doctors office gave me was not to weigh for the first month, to let them do it at my 1 month check up. there are many factors that make the scale not move but it doesn't mean you're not losing fat. They said measure yourself, go by how you're feeling and how your clothes fit.

I was discouraged but I stayed with the plan, didn't cheat, did EXACTLY what my doctors orders were and I feel like I've broken the plateau.

Keep it up... you're NOT a failure.

Ditto what Martha said. I had surgery on Nov 10th and have only lost about 26 pounds since then. I have had several complications where I had to go back into the hospital a few times and have been eating very little but I am going no where with the scale. But just like Martha I have noticed my clothes are getting really loose. Everyone is different. We just need to not worry so much and let our new tool do its job on its on time.

I lost over 30 lbs really fast and now I've been the same weight for about 2 weeks. Someone on the site asked, "when was the last time you lost 40 lbs in a month?" That has stuck with me; also, my clothes bigger, I've dropped two sizes since the surgery. I hope the scale moves soon I can't wait to be out of the two hundreds. I have no advise to give other than watch your cloth sizes and I stay positive by looking at others success story's and pics on the site. Good luck to you.
