My doctor just said I couldn't drive while on pain meds and I didn't take any after I got out of the hospital. I got out of the hospital on a Wendesday and drove myself to the doctor the following Monday to have my drain removed. Go with whatever your doctor's recommendation is as all doctor's differ from others in many ways including pain meds, diet, and restrictions after sugery.

Hi Nena,
I didn't even ask my doctor, but I drove about a week after surgery. It wasn't a long trip and I was tired after it. I returned to work after 2 weeks, and drove myself (50 miles one way) and I was fine...
