| I'm new and 6 weeks post op - Gastric bypass
Hi my name is Jackie. I am 6 weeks post op and startig to struggle!! I lost 2 stone during my forst 4 weeks on fluids only and have since stopped losing weight! am I doig something wrong? It's certainly not the amount of food I am eating as it is very little at the mo. I am strugling with water intake ad realise i must increase this. Any advice / thouhts/ similar experience?
Having said all the above I have no regrets ad am loving my new size now but am really excited about being even smaller
Love
Jackie

| Hello and welcome Jackie! It is very common to have stops and starts to the weight loss. It's your bodys way of using it's energy to heal at first. It will catch up....we all have posted simmilar worries. You think how is that possible???? You'll see - it will come off. In the mean time I bet you are still loosing inches! Good luck!

You need to eat a certain amount or your body thinks it starving and hangs onto everything it can. Many people here have broken stalls by increasing the amount they eat. Counter-intuitive, yes, but it works! Are you sure you're eating enough?

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on your wonderfu weight loss.
((((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.
You will lose in humps and bumps, not in one fell swoop during this journey.
Your body needs to heal and adjust for the first 3-4 months, and even after that, it ill stall scale-wise to adjust what's going on inside. When the scale stalls is when your inches fall off, so be sure to take measurments as well as watching the scale, they BOTH are important.
So long as you are sticking ot the program your surgeon gave you, you are on the road to success.
