Hi everyone.
I just had my consultation meeting this week - got all the handouts and booklets, etc. Next few weeks I will be starting all the doctor appointments and getting the bloodwork, monthly support meetings, etc. and all the other stuff necessary before I can have the gastric bypass surgery done.
I have been reading the forum for awhile now, so I was prepared for the consultation with questions and information. The director, John, was a real sweetie, he assured me that I do qualify and they have worked with my insurance a lot and never had any one turned down.
I've been dieting for over 40 years starting out at age 12 trying to lose 10 to 15 pounds in order to be 120 lbs (I'm 5'4"). I'm 53 now, and currently 305 lbs (home scale) and 307.5 (doctor's scale).
Looking forward to getting down to at least about 200 lbs. (losing about 100). I'm taking this journey in small steps and don't want to set goals too far off that may not be possible. I've done medifast and every other diet there is and haven't been much under 200 lbs in decades so I'm trying to be realistic.
Nice to be here!
