Unhappy Still waiting...

I am still waiting for my weight loss surgery. In September my surgury was aborted due to a oversized liver. I have lost the required 20 pounds but it was determined that I must lose an additional 20 pounds to shrink my liver enough to successfully complete the gastric bypass.

I can diet but long-term and consistent dieting is very difficult for me. I am discouraged and losing my motivation. I have not lost any weight in the last two months. I want to get super motivated but my self-sabatoging behavior gets in the way.

Does anyone have in words of wisdom that can jump-start my weight-loss again?

Mary

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Mary,
Welcome here, and I hear you about the frustration. The thing is that the surgery is a tool; and sticking to a program is what it will take for you to be successfull after surgery.

That being said, become a boy scout. Be prepared, package your food, have it around and never let yourself be without something you love and is a healthy choice for you. Take those vitamins and drink your water, but most importantly--live here at this site. The experience, strenghth and hope is amazing.

Also--go to hungry girl dot com. Wowza, she has great food ideas, and if you overeat those items, you do so much less damage than the real thing--case in point the Ritz cracker vs the crunchy sesamie rice crackers--YUMMY!

God Bless,
Becky

((((((HUGS))))) You will be able to get surgery once you lost the required 20lbs. Consider it time for you to set yourself up for the life style changes that you will need to make post op. Train yourself for that. Chew off small mouthfuls, chew chew chew instead of inhaling your food, take time to eat. In between meals, when you get hungry, chug water, not soda pop. Take up the habit of walking around the block daily. Small things, sure, but they add up to a lot in the end.
I'm sure you can do it, so hand in there. ((((((HUGS))))))

I ame constantly amazed at how few calories are in the healthy foods. You'd think this is "duh" but I really keep getting surprised. Try making deals with yourself. Say "I will allow myself one __(bad food)______ but only after I've eaten __(good food)_____. " Then fill up on the good foods.
