| Newbie | I am excited to have found this sight. Unfortunately I am not well versed and navigated a site like this, so I will have to scope it out a bit. Feeling anxious about a slow weight loss week. I have started training with a personal trainer for one month now and did not lose this week. I am afraid that I am obsessed with the scale. At only 3.5 months out from Gastric Bypass surgery, I shouldn't have hit a plateau. Any suggestions? Barbara |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | OH yes thats a a another one of those small little plataue moments. BUT what im thinking more so is that you built some muscle working with a personal trainer. MUSCLE weighs more then fat...so u might have stood still on the scale from the new workout. DONT worry relax and the scale will keep moveing. GLAD you found the board BARBARA! and I look forward to getting to know you thru your posts. YOU will learn fast enough how to navigate around. I believe there is a thread around that can help too. WELCOME to the forums. THIS link should help you learn how to naviage the board! JUST click and read: http://www.renewedreflections.com/fo...his-board.html GOOD LUCK!

I have moved your post here from where you posted, as that thread is for asking T2DMan to post your before and after pics on the revolving banner above. I hope you don't mind. As for navigating this board, please check out Coffe Talk and check the FYI: How to navigate thread. It should give you pointers. ((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.

Height: | Barbara...welcome to our board. I am glad you found us too. As for the stall, try not to panick...hard I know. I have had a good share of stalls and mini bouts of not losing. There have been a couple of weeks where for no reason I have actually gained a couple of pounds and it was hard to take at the time, but then I also had a few weeks where I had a loss of 5-7lbs. My advice is to only weigh yourself once a week and then try to hang out here when you are down and you will find lots of support to help you get back out of the dumps. Janae |

| hey Barb, Well, when I first came on this site, I thought I would never find my way around here, but it is pretty easy actually, once you get the hang of it. lol It took me weeks. I know as well the plateau thing. I just got over one and I am only 3 months out tomorrow. I never lost a pound in a little over a week. I go up this morning and no lie, I lost 3 pounds. So maybe it was short lived for me. I hope so. I hear that can happen though, as far as losing like practically overnight. The scale thing is a menace. I KNOW. Especially when you hit a plateau. HANG IN THERE GIRL mike |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Welcome to the site. I have already gone a week without losing and I am only 9 weeks out, but the week before no loss I lost 5.5 lbs so I think it balances in the end. Just hang in there, keep working out, and the weight will go. Remember too, that when you're not losing lbs you're losing inches. R_Bren |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | ...You will love it here once you navigate your way around. The links that Lisa and Doc gave you are the best ways to make this place more of a "home"...and there are some pretty easy ways to get your "siggy" going...post your progress...and really start to settle in. Glad you found us...this is a super great place to be!! There are a lot of people that had surgery right around the time you did. July right?? I had mine in April...and I am 6mos. post op..... I know for me month 1-3 I had significant weight loss...and then months 4-6....only aobut 10#'s per month.....it was hard....and somewhere in there I had a stall where I lost not one oz. for about 3 weeks. And then all of a sudden 8 or 9 dropped off...and that picture there was a significant change that month. SO....be sure to take your monthly pictures....they really make a HUGE difference as you travel this journey. I agree with Janae (pillows)....don't panic. There will be ups and downs. But, as Janae only weighs once a week....i weigh nearly every day...but b/c I'm don't panic. It's ok, if I don't loose - or in some times (like Janae) have actually gained!! I don't freak.....and it will just come off sooner or later. Doc said to me once, "what??? Do you think you are gonna be the first one where this surgery doesn't work for you???" That really gave me the capasity not to freak out...and calm down. I still weigh nearly every day....but, that is b/c I want to know what is going on....and if I'm up....or not loosing....I can evaluate how I want to eat that day!!~ Good luck in getting around the board....sooooo glad you are with us, and can't wait to get to know you better!!!
