Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hello. I am new to this site. I think it is awesome! I have been reading and reading and reading the posts. I am learning from everyone! Thank you so much... I had WLS on March 21, 2006. I did have complications afterwards that kept me in the hospital for 9 days after surgery, but I am still so glad that I did it! Due to pnuemonia, I left the hospital on oxygen and I was in a wheelchair most of the time when up and about. (I have 8 herniated discs in my spine and tons of arthritis) So exercise was limited, BUT I did lose weight! Yippee!! I was miserable. I went into surgery over 380 lbs, and I have lost around 100lbs. so far. It is like a miracle!! I still have back and knee pain but I can walk and walk and walk now! Does anyone else feel like they are finally living again?? I was just existing, eating, sleeping, getting through another day... Now I look forward to every day and there just aren't enough hours in each day! I lost fast at first, but hit a plateau early, at 3 months, and have been losing slowly since. I am awed at how fast some of you lucky people have lost lbs.!! Wow! I just want to thank everyone that has written in here again. I finally have found a place to feel totally at home.

Glad you found RR. It's my favorite place with my favorite people. Sorry you had so much trouble 1st out. Does the walking help your back much? I felt just like you before WLS. It is a totally comfortable here. That was why I posted to begin with. Craig T had written something about pulling up a chair and comeing on in. That's when I knew it was for me.

Please check out the FAQ on the nav bar above, or the Tech Question forum in the Main forum. Tech how tos are all posted there. Lots of what's what info in the sticky threads in Coffee Talk, also.
