| Made a Big Mistake
I made Cream of Wheat for my daycare kids and it had dried dates in it all cooked down to where they fell apart. I thought that since it was a puree consistency that it would be ok. I remember them saying I could start fruit now as long as it was soft and smooth, but I don't remember anything about dried fruit that was reconstituted.
Well, I ate it and that was not good. I had my first case of dumping since I had surgery and it was awful. Now, I knew what to expect because I was one of those weird people that had dumping before weight loss surgery if I ate the wrong foods. The bad thing about this time was for one, I was in charge of watching kids. I spent most of the moring in the bathroom sitting on the toilet. When I dump the abdominal cramping gets so bad that I start throwing up at the same time. So, I was sitting on the toilet, dry heaving into a trash can all morning. I also always feel all the color drain out of me, start getting really hot, and feel like I am going to pass out. Amidst all the stuff trying to come out of both ends, all I want to do is lie on the cool bathroom floor.
So, for anyone that has not experienced dumping, you feel like you are dying. Avoid it as much as possible.
Since this episode, I went on the internet and discovered that dried fruit is an aggravator. So, I learned my lesson the hard way.
That just added to my bad day. My husband deployed to Iraq yesterday, I think I got a stress fracture in my foot somehow, one of my daycare kids had severe behavior issues, and someone committed a murder-suicide right in front of our PX on base which is about a 2 minute drive from my house.
I am glad today is a new day.

i dont know what an aggravator is but dried fruit is no good. LOL. i personally have never been able to eat it without sweating. regular fruit is fine for me. did it have sugar ADDED? it might have been the double whammy of the carbs from the cream of wheat and the dried fruit??
im sorry you had to learn the hard way. feel better.

Fructose in fruit turns to sucrose (table sugar) when dried. I learned that back in my OA days. (overeaters anonymous)
Sucrose is bad. Lesson learned. Welcome to the club.
I ate homemade ice cream two nights in a row this week...dumped big time both times. Some lessons learn a little harder. LOL.

That sounds like real dumping. This is something I have never had. I kinda wish I did. I am sure it would help remind me of things that I should never try.
I am sorry you had such a bad day. I hope things will be better today. Hang in there girl it will all be alright in time. (((hugs))) dixie

The dumping sounds horrible. Sorry to hear about your DHs deployment. Thank you so much for the service that you BOTH give to your country. I heard about the shooting yesterday...horrible. I see a much more difficult time getting through the gate for all of us in the future.
