Default bypass on monday

Hi everyone i just had my bypass on monday 7/20 and i find it very hard to eat anything...to me the sf jello and juices they gave me in the hospital were so incredibly sweet tasting that they made me nausiated and the chicken soup broth was so salty that i couldnt get it down either...it's like my taste buds are super sensitive now...the only thing have been able to get down so far besides my water is some watered down crystal lite and a few bites of sf pudding to take my pills with. My doc told me not to be overly concerned with the proteins and vitamins for this first week as long as i was getting in my fluids ....but i am worried. did any of you have the same issues? and how long before your taste buds changed.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Don't worry many have this problem at first. It will pass soon. Just do what your doctor tells you and you will be fine. Good luck on your journey. It is really a wonderful trip. You may find that you like foods that you didnt before and not like some that you did. It is a lot of trail and error in the beginning. You will do fine. When you can get to the "real" food you will do a lot better. Hang in there it won't be long.

It's weird how much our tastes change postop ~ I've often said I think they do hypnosis on us while we're under! You can make your own provided it meets your docs protocol. Are you still on clear liq or full liquids now? If full liq, maybe you could make your own ckn stock then blend it to the proper consistency? Lots of people like the unjury unflavored protein for this very reason. Good luck

Congratulations on joining the Losers' Bench.
You're only a few days out of MAJOR surgery. Trust your surgeon, and don't worry about what your surgeon says not to worry. Just keep hydrated, rest well, sip sip sip and walk walk walk, take things one day at a time.
