| I need things to do to keep busy...
Can anyone who has gone through this process as a homebody tell me some things to do with myself while I'm going to be waiting forever for my insurance to approve things once my doc sends the paperwork this week? I feel like I'm going to go a little nuts after my very good psych evaluation if I don't find things to do. I can't be very active, so exercise is out, and I'm not really sure what I should be researching to get ready. I'm at a weird point where I feel like I don't have all of the information I need even though every time someone asks me questions I know the answers. Help anyone?

| I have been exactly where you are I planned for my surg by 1- cleaning my house top to bottom and inside and out, 2- doing all laundry including bedding, curtins, rugs, etc 3- buying groceries enough to last til kingdom LOL, like, I even bought for just in case we had a hurricane ~ water, batteries, the whole nine yards 4- pre-prepare meals that I could freeze then just thaw and bake post op when I didn't feel like cooking. If you accomplish all this, come over here and you can do mine seriously, though, do you have any closets to clean out? drawers? projects to be done? pix that need sorting and storing properly? Keeping busy kept me sane so I def recommend that Hugs, your app may be back sooner than you expected. Wishing you well~~~

If you got a hobby work on it. Take a new one up. Its stressful right now but when you get that date honey even if its months away time flys and you will swear you dont have time to complete things you wanted to do. Take a walk if you can tolerate it. Its somthing you will have to find yourself to preoccupy yourself with.

I did just as Clancy did, I had so much nervous energy it was driving me crazy. But it sure was nice coming home to a very clean house.

My nesting instinct kicked into hyper-mode while I waited. I totally nested and it was a very good thing. Had a garage sell. Cleaned closets and drawers. Got rid of things I had not used or needed in a year. Bought a book on cooking Tapas and small plate dishes. Sorted through stacks of paper and either filed or tossed. Cleaned house in terms of friends and kept those with a mutually beneficial relationship so that I was not continuing to put myself in a position where I was doing all of the supporting at a cost to myself. I engaged in only things that made me happy. I love painting so I spent time creating. I spent time gardening. I read a lot of books. I made myself a priority which meant having conversations with my loved ones about the support I would need after wls. This is the time to "get ready" and getting ready looks differently for everyone. Give yourself what you need while you wait. Good luck.

right now Ebay is having a promotion where you can list 5 things every 30 days for free. That is something to do.

Thank you all so much. I am making a list of things I need to get done every day, so I guess it's kind of like a schedule for my day. This house is going to look like Merlin lives here when I'm done with it. My fiance' hasn't seen clean yet! LOL

You said that exercise is not an option rite now..... What about sitting out side enjoying nature or at a park? After you do all the cleaning stuff you can do at home how about more research on WLS stuff.. I have found that watching Utube videos on WLS helps me relax and get an idea of what I am in for. Most are 5-10 minute videos. If you want a few suggestions of peope to check out PM me and I will send you some links. I have followed a few for the last 7 months.Good luck on a speedy aproval!
