Hi,
I am 28 year old disabled mum of two, i had never had a problem with my weight until at 11 i was diagnosed with sevral medical conditions. Over night i went from an active skinny kid to being stuck in a wheelchair pumped full of steroids.Having my kids didn't help either not that i would be with out them. After 6 years of constant diets my doctor has refered me to a specialist who has recommended the y-bypass. I never really thought i would make it through all the tests to make it to the waitin list. I have a pre op appointment in two weeks i am so scarred. I know i need this surgery and i am doing it for my kids i want to be able to see my kids grow up,But i am terrified something might go wrong and i will never see them again. Please if you can help me i don't know who else to ask.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

What you are feeling, Bev, is perfectly normal. We all want the benefits of the surgery, but actually going through the hospital stage can be scary. Ask your surgeon about his or her success rate. If they dodge the question, you should be running out the door!! Any reputable doc will be glad to tell you.

Read everything you can on this board, especially in the forums for preparing for gastric bypass surgery. The operation really isn't all that bad, but the blessings in your life will blow your mind once you reach that stage!! It's the best thing I've ever done for my health. I've done so well that my wife had her RNY about 4 months ago, and she's doing just fine, too.

Good luck! Remember, knowledge is power!! Do your research and know what you're going to experience and it won't be nearly as frightening.
