Well I'm home from the hospital - surgery was Friday and had a pretty uneventful stay - yesterday was pretty miserable with all this pent up gas but today I feel much better, it feel so good to be home. Now just looking forward to feeling better everyday and getting this JP drain out on August 4th.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

First of all im glad your home and had an uneventful stay.

Second........ your gonna think im crazy for saying this but....... love the drain.
Its helping you without you knowing it even thought it might drive you crazy at times.

Use a safety pin to keep it outta your way. When gettoing in the shower use one of those things around your neck like you would get at a sportig event the cord thing that hangs around your neck to keep the drain up with both hands free. It works wonders.

The drain keeps the fluid comming out and you healthy. The longer it stays in the better you will feel and healthier you will get. Make sure you keep up with how much it drains and be very honest with them on how much is comming out. It dont never need to be pulled to quick. Follow their directions and you should be just fine honey. Welcome to the losers bench. Take care of you!

Cobbly! Yay! We both has surgery the same day and are both home. So glad to hear from you. Hang in there. The drain will be gone soon. We'll keep in touch and compare notes. You are gonna look and feel so great, my friend!
I feel ok...just like I took a hard fall and jumbled up all my insides. But, pain level is very tolerable and my puree food went down okay. Just a lot of fatigue. Several docs have told me I have a high pain tolerance, so I am sure that helps me (even though I feel like a wuss!)
So far I feel better than I anticipated and I am praising God for it! I did a little 3 minute walk at the campground twice and plan to get on my treadmill for an slow easy short walk in a few minutes.
Then..probably off to bed!
Thanks everyone for all your prayers and support.

Hi Salli

I've been checking in to see if you've arrived ON THE BENCH. My pain is very tolerable as well - I didn't need any pain medication in the hospital with the exception of the few hits of the morphine pump the first night. Right now I'm just SORE and still have a bit of gas but it's 100x better than yesterday and hope it just keeps on getting better. Im on a complete clear liquid diet until I see my surgeon next tuesday - so right now im just sip, sip and sipping some more. Fatigue hasn't set in YET but I'm walking around the house and following the rules!! Glad to see you here, I'm off to bed soon myself, can't wait for a night in my OWN bed.

Hugs
Amanda

Hi Debbie

I am feeling pretty good -- just a little sore and stiff. Just keep moving, resting and sipping. Yes, the pain has been really tolerable, I don't know if I just have a high pain tolerance or what but I haven't had any pain meds since the night of surgery. So you will be having your surgery in Sept? How exciting!!
