I would like to thank everyone for their words of encouragement. I can tell this is going to be a very infformative site with very helpful people. A little about my self, I Started really gaining weight 37 years ago when I was pregnant with my son (I gained with each pregnancy), with my 35 year old daughter I gained even more, then I yoyo dieted(as most of you I tried every thing). With my second husband, I had my second daughter who just turned 16 (wow, the teenage years again, OMG)  LOL. Then there's the NEW light of my life, my 2 year old granddaughter who I'm very close to, I took care of her when her mother went back to work when she was 2 months old. So my husband and I decided to change our lives and be healthier and around longer, especially for our 16 year old and our granddaughter. Don't get me wrong it's for ourselves too. We want to do things together and be active. I've been reading up on bypass for a long time now, at least three years. I'm so glad I found this group I notice there are a few who are about my high (surprising) and also my starting weight. As you can tell I have the gift of gab but I'm also a good listener. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN, I WILL DEFINITELY STAY IN TOUCH THROUGH OUT OUR JOURNEY! Doris

I noticed your stats. Thank you for putting them up. It helps us help you along belive it or not. Look at my height and starting weight. We could be twins! And you will be having your surgery 4 days shy of my 2nd anniversery!
Your goal weight and time to get there are all great. I give myself time to accomplish my goal also and im still taking it off..... dont want any more gone but its slowly still moving.
I think you saying you want to live to see your kids grow and grandbaby. I did mine to live again and to save my life. I had gotten to where all I did was sit and watch my neices and nephews I didnt participate because I couldnt. I knew if I didnt I would have died long before my time and I didnt want that either. So..... I did it and would do it again all over again in a heart beat.

Hey Doris, I'm Kathy. Welcome to your RR family. This is the greatest site for information and support. Wow-another female that's as tall as I am. We are definitely few and far between!! I really think that my height helped in camaflouging (I can't spell too well ) my weight. When I weighed over 335, people didn't realize it because of my height and type of clothes I wore. Good luck on your journey, and ask away. I don't think I've seen a question that somebody here didn't have an answer for.
