Hi! My name is Janie and I'm in the process of completing my 6 month medically supervised diet (which I have not done well at) and hopefully to submit my paperwork to insurance by the end of January. I am looking forward to meeting you all and learning as much as I can about having the RNY. I'm trying to learn a lot about it before surgery so there are very few surprises afterwards!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery. Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.  |

Hi. Welcome. Don't feel too bad about having trouble on your diet. Just try the best you can. If any of us did well at medically supervised diets, none of us would have needed to have WLS. I had been on diets since the 2nd grade. You are in a great place for questions and support. Glad that you found us.

WELCOME to the board! GLAD your moving forward and getting thru that six month supervised diet thingie. THATS a difficult step that many have to go thru to get this approved. It seems like I was just going through my 6 months of nutrition counseling ect. before I could have my surgery. To me it felt like the surgery date would never get here, and even a month away I was sure it wouldn't happen! Now I'm 8 months out and feeling soooooo wonderful compared to last year at this time.
