Default Surgery on Monday

I'm new at this, to say the least. My surgery is Monday. I've just been browsing for suggestions on most anything. Especially, post op food suggestions for the next two weeks.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Default Welcome Teresa!

It is good to see some more newbies join us. WELCOME! One of the most important thing to remember Teresa, is to follow your doctor's orders. Don't push ANYTHING after your surgery. Also, don't be afraid to post on the site. The only stupid questions, are the ones that don't get asked. GOOD LUCK with your journey. We, all here, are routing for you in anything that life throws at you. You will find alot of GREAT people here to answer anything that you need to know, or to just get input on. Personally, I don't know sometimes, how I would have gotten through some things without this awesome site. STAY STRONG, TERESA AND GOOD LUCK AGAIN.

Talking Hey Teresa!

I agree with Mike....follow your Dr's protocol...but if you are like I was...you are in a sort of "nesting" phase getting ready for this Huge change!
I recommend a couple books.....
Here is a thread with a ton of suggestions....I loved these
That was exactly what I needed.

The other thing...it's great to have books around so when you are recovering you can read...Loved that!

WELCOME to the boards
and I am so glad you found the site

I want to first off wish you the best on your surgery
and my prayers are with you for an uncomplicated text
book perfect surgery .

AS for what you need the first day homes depends all on
your surgeons protocal...do you know what stage foods
you will be on when you come home from the hospitol????

I do suggest you pack chapstick to bring with you to the
hospitol and a pair of slippers. I know for me they had me
up and walking from the first night in the hospitol.

GOOD LUCK!
and let us know what stage foods you come home on
and we can give you tons of suggestions from experience.
I was on clear liquids for 2 weeks so i had lots of lo sodium
broth, propel, crystal light, sugar free icepops, diet snapple,
sugar free koolaide and things like that for my first two weeks.

HUGS and all the best

Good luck on Monday and You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. I know for me post op ice chips were a huge hit. And frozen popsicles, for me the colder the better for others they can't handle the cold. But its important to follow your docs orders!!
I have the two books Deb recommended and I love them both!! I found them on Amazon.com rather cheap

LMAOOOOOOOOO....OMG that is sooo true. I loved the ice chips at the hospital where I was....they were bitesized squares......my husband went searching everywhere for these ice trays....to no avail I took home a picture full of em because I loved em so much!
