Default An Introduction

Hey all,

I just wanted to take a minute and say hello. I just came across this board today, but sure wish I would have found it several months ago. I am a retired veteran of 20 years in the U.S. Navy. I had a lap RNY procedure on April 26, 2006. I was very happy that all went well, and I didn't even really have any post-op discomfort or pain. Over the last 7 1/2 months or this journey I have been amazed at the changes my body has gone through. I started this thing out at 325 lbs. I was so excited when the weight began to fall off. I couldn't believe how much better I felt in just a very short period of time. Now a little more than 7 months later I weigh in at 210 lbs, I no longer use a CPAP machine, I no longer take the medications I used to for Bood Pressure and GERD, and I feel like a million bucks. I am so happy that I made the decision to pursue this. I look forward to getting to know some of you and to learn more about the journey you have traveled or are beginning to travel. I am always happy to share my experiences, trials, and successes in hopes that someone else may benefit from what I have gone through.

Well, enough of bending your ears. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas filled with everything you desire.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi Mountngrown. Welcome to RR. This is a great place to meet people who have or are thinking about WLS. I'm just behind you date-wise for RNY. I had mine 5/17/06. I started out at 365 and weighed 268 a week or two ago.
Glad you found us and hope to get to know you better. There are many wonderful people here who post and share their experiences. Look forward to seeing you around!

Hey Mountngrown. I am so proud of you and glad to know that you are doing so well. I am glad that you found us. We probably had our surgeries pretty close to each other. My surgery was April 4th of this year and I am so grateful that I did it.

Talking Hey Mountngrown!!!

Like everyone's said, "WELCOME TO THE RR BOARD!"

There are quite a few of us who had our surgery in April and May!! So we all are togetha!!

I had my surgery just a week before yours....on April 19th....I started at 333 just 8#'s more than you....and I'm at 215....just 5# more than you....so it looks like we've kept up pretty good with one another!!

Isn't this just the most amazing journey?!?! I'm sooo thankful...I literally "bounced" up my staircase today....and when I was nearly to the top I thought....OMG.....I'm not even tired! sooooo amazing!

Sorry you didn't find us sooner...but glad you found us now...this is an amazing board with amazing people. I don't think I could've made it thru without them!

WELCOME....looking forward to meeting you more thru your posts here on the board!
