Saturday i turn the big 42. Never thought I would be a size 16 ever, much less at 42.
All the women in my family are taking me shopping for clothes for my birthday.
I am going to Victorias Secret to get me some bras and look for some anti-uni-butt panties. Then I am going to go and get a few pairs of jeans.
I am so excited!
My hubby is Muslim so every year my Mom would have me over to her house for a "pork fest". It would include 2lbs of Black Label bacon for breakfast and lunch and fried pork chops for dinner. We have done this for the last ten years. Last night she was gearing up to make all my favorites and I asked her why and reminded her I could not eat it anymore. She said, "I keep forgetting you are skinny".
I started crying. She started appoligizing to me. I told her, Mama u didn't do anything wrong, this is the first time in my life u called me skinny". she was quiet for a moment and then told me how proud she was of me and how much she has learned from me.
This was the best compliment i have ever gotten in my life!
What a birthday, no cake or candles, no pigging out. I won't miss it a bit! Instead, new clothes i can breath in, buy off the rack in whatever store i want and to top it all off.......my Mom is looking at me different!
What a great way to celebrate.
