Weight Loss Method Aitkens   |  My first entry here hello everyone this is my first post ever on this site i was just refered here by a really nice person named mike he had a lot od great info on gastric bypass i have been thinking about it for a while. i am currently on a low carb diet (atkins) i started on dec2 2006 and have lost nine pounds to date. the last time i was on it i did really great i lost 85 pounds and was in my glory i was sooo happy . i was not at my goal weight but i was close .. then i got pregnant with my daughter after 12 years of thinking i could no longerhave any more kids come to find out it was because i was carring to much weight that caused me not to get pregnant but any way now that my baby is 10 months old its time for to get back on the ball and get back to loosing weight. i really want the surgery. but my dr said he does not recomend it so maybe ill see another doc i dont know but for know im doing atkins and see how it goes i have over 100 pounds to lose. so i hope i can get some support here .itsso hard to go at this alone . i will be back with weekly weight in so here goes the first one 12/2/06/(275) 12/13 06 (265) well ill be back to write my weekly progress and hopefully to meet some people going thru the same thing i am my email address is lissa_rose2001@yahoo.com i would like to hear from any one who wants to chat about struggles with weight .also please let me nkow if this is the appropriate place to post my weight and goals or if there is some where else i do it in private lissarose

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass   | HI LISSAROSE!!! HATE to say your storey sounds like me!!! pretty weird. ONLY thing is i am on the looseing side and had the gastric bypass surgery now!!! and lost 143 lbs. BUT i had lost a 100 lbs in 2001 then got pregnant after 13 years of infertility gained it all back plus more and then was stuck. SO after year off and on atkins! i gave up and went and looked into the gastric bypass surgery. I do have PCOS..... as far as you...find a doctor that believe in the surgery!!! that will support you on your journey. MINE surprised me and was for it. FELT any surgery that imporves a persons way of life is worth it. KEEP us posted write me anytime but your storey is so like my journey!!!! My name is lisa and welcome to the board! I'm sooo glad you found us here on this board....it really is an amazing board...with some simply FANTASTIC women & men!! We have all been brought here b/c of the same reason...our struggle with our weight...and there is a forum for you Lissa to place your weekly updates!!! (It's called: Non- OPs A forum on a weight loss journey WITHOUT surgery.) Can't wait to hear how you are doing...and get to know you better! Also...If you are 100#'s or more overweight...I'd think I'd check out another doctor. If you loose a lot of weight now...you won't qualify at all for the surgery. I know everytime I've done a low carb diet...I'm successful for a time...but it comes back sooner or later. (that is just me...I got sooo sick of dieting...and am sooo thankful for the surgery.) But overall....anything you can do to get your weight down to keep you in a 'healthy' weight range should be done...you will be adding years to your life! Glad you are here. WELCOME!!

Weight Loss Method Aitkens | WOW Thanks for all the warm welcomes I think I will get alot of use out of this site.I have decided to wait until i go to my new doctor with my new insurance in Jan tosee if i can get him to let me do the surgery until then i will keep trying with the atkins diet . oh my gosh its so hard to stick to it. it drives me nuts at times i really .i can go days and days and be just fine and other days its so hard i try to think that its just food and i should not let the food win but i'm beginning to think its like a drug . its just crazy to me . but any way today has been a good day so far .and thats all i can do is take it one day at a time and hope for the best just less thena month to go before i see the new dr and try to get approved for te surgery i dont understand the problem if im over 100 pounds they should just do it .the main problem i had with my dr now is that i work woth him and he has seen me lose 85 lb and i guess he thinks i should be able to do it again and hes right i can do it but i go crazy trying to do it .you know what i mean? well any one who wants to message me go right ahead i have my computer on all day ...i work doubles on the weekend so im not here then!!!lissa_rose2001@yahoo.com
