Default my 3 month follow up

Well I went to the Dr today for a 3 month follow up...........dr scale says I have lost 67lbs!!!!!!!!! He said that was good and i should be down about 30 more pounds at my next appt in March??? I hope I am doing good I still feel FAT!!!! I did go join the gym today, walked 20 mins on treadmill, 20 min on the bike and 10 min on the eliptical (boy was that the longest 10 min of my life) dont know if the eliptical is for me?? I guess when I can put my wedding dress on (size 6) from twenty two yrs ago I will be HAPPY. I am just very discouraged (not by my weight loss) I feel so alone in my own house. The only words of encouragment I get are from co-workers and all of you on here, just wish my husband would be more supportive. I wanted him to go to the gym with me and he says, no he would rather walk outside (he has always exercised and is very fit) . He misses the point.........I want to bond with him doing something that he has always enjoyed (working out) oh well I WILL go everyday alone, this journey I am on after all is MINE not anyone elses. Sorry to be a bummer.

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Great weight loss! Sorry to hear your family aren't as supportive as they could be. Remember, it doesn't matter what anyone but you thinks. Obviously you're a strong lady to make such significant progress without a lot of family support. Hang in there.

Is there a reason you can't walk with him and bond a little more on his terms? You can still do the gym for intensity. I would think that walking outside with your hubby would be well within your new capabilities.

Well I think your doing really good honey. Did you tell the hubby what you told us? Mabye that will help. Im a outside walker to I will admit. Im also glad your Dr put this in perspective for you when telling you when he sees you again in March how much more he thinks you will lose. I like that because everyone gets so excitied seeing it melt off at first and it has to slow down. Yep I would have loved to have dumped all mine fast but your body cannot keep up with it so he more or less told ya its gonna start slowing but keep working at it. Tell him I said thank you for telling you that. LOL Im serious.

Be open with the hubby and mabye he can make a better attempt with this. I hope so. Hey we are always here for you honey. We are proud of you each day and will support you no matter what.

thanks very much vickie........i am just very down today. My hubby is very ocd about everything and times his walks ....says i am too slow to walk with him, that hurts because he has never been over weight and doesnt understand. So i will just go to the gym by myself, maybe at some point he will miss me while i am gone, also he might have to miss a few dinners since i will be busy at the gym!! Lol

LOL that is right. You know I do understand in a way. Not the same exact way but I know what lonley is. Its not a good place to be and feel it. Remember with this surgery you have to put you first and its a good thing and about time. And think about this before long you can tell him hes to slow to walk with.

You will do just fine honey. Just fine.

Congrats on the weight loss.

Sorry about your DH, but I'm the opposite from you when I go to the gym. I want to concentrate on what I am doing, so I go by myself with my iPod as company, and meditate while working out--it's my *me* time.
Once you've lost some more, and have built up your strength through exercise, you probably will be able to keep up with your DH.
Also, keep in mind that spouses also may feel a bit insecure while their partner is going through the rapid weight loss--it is hard for them, just as it is hard for you to keep up with the changes you are going through, especially because your weight loss will make you feel more confident and outgoing. Even if you feel as you are talking to a wall, try to tell him what you are going through, your feelings, what you want to do, what you plan to do. Keep him in the loop as much as you can. Even if you don't get a reaction, or the reaction is negative, keep on doing it. There will come a point when he realizes, but it may take time while he is trying to catch up with what you are going through.

(((HUGS))) Hang in there.

I'm sorry you have so little support at home. But you've been married to him a long time now so his reactions shouldn't be a surprise. One of the best pieces of advice I can give you is to realize that he's facing a major change in his life too, and he didn't even get to choose if he wanted to or not.

You are changing. It's a change that you chose and you embrace with all your heart, but even still, it's going to be a tough ride for awhile. You are changing right before his eyes and he's going ot have problems dealing with it. So try to be patient with him, keep the lines of communication open, as much as he'll let you.

And know that there are lots of people here that will listen, and give you a cyberhug, and understand what you mean. Normies really can't grasp so much of this journey, but we can. ((hug))

Hi, congratulations on your weight loss you've done very well, my husband won't walk with me nor go to the gym, but like doc said it's my time, I walk all over with the dog, sometimes go at nite with the dog and she's a protector so I don't worry but lately I walk different ways just looking at all the christmas lights even when it's cold. Just make it
your time.
Good luck!
Judy

I understand your feelings. I am divorced but I have 3 teenage daughters at home and have to talk them into walking with me. In the good weather it is easier. We have 2 dogs and I love to walk them. However one is really big (120lbs) and the other is a smaller pit bull and it is really too hard for 1 person to walk both ( and possibly dangerous if a cat or squirrel runs by) so I threaten to walk both by myself. Now they fought about it and each have to pick 2 days a week that they walk with me and I take the 7th day off. ( Although bad weather like this I do skip days now and again)
