Red face Hello All

Hello everyone. I am new here. I had my gastric bypass on 17 Nov. I just found out yesterday that I had a stricture. The connection between the bottom of my stomach and my small bowell practically closed up. I had and EGD done and they put a balloon in there and stretch it out. I have to go get another EGD done on Tuesday to get it stretched out a little more.

I would like to know if anyone knows of any foods that I can eat. I am doing the mash potatoes and protein shakes and water. Bur everything is so bland to me. I am dying for a Coke.

Talk to you soon,
Veronica

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Maybe some of the others that have had this problem can help you. I am sure anything soft would be ok. Just make sure that you drinks you fluids. Good luck on your life changing journey and I hope you will be better soon. This is just a bump in the road. Hang in there.

Hi there welcome to the site. Im Vickie. Im sorry you have gotten a stricture but that is the most common side effect to have. Im glad you having them taken care of. Please what ever you do dont drink a coke. Not even a diet one unless its totally flat. Its just to early for that. If they gave you a list follow it. Broth seasoned or even seansoning up your mashed potatoes will help. Perhaps adding some cheese to them. The cheese will have the protien you need also. Its been a long time since I had mine so go buy your list right now and try different things.

Im wondering if your not having what they call head hunger. It happens about a month out. Your head thinks your hungry but your really not. It will pass honey.

Im sure someone who just had surgery or about a month out will come on soon and give you some good ideas and some good help.

Keep us updated on your progress ok?

My nut said make sure we season what we eat so we don't get bored. with the mashed potatoes, she said to add a samll amount of ff cream cheese, onion powder, garlic powder and use chic broth to make them. I haven;t tried potatoes yet. I'm thrilled to death with my cottage cheese and refried beans right now. I've also been using unflavored protein powder in pudding. I got it at gnc. I was amazed that it didn't change the taste or texture of the pudding. I just can't take the protein powed that make a creamy shake. It's too sweet for me. Good luck with the stricture.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on joining the Losers' Bench.
(((((HUGS))))) May your journey go well.

Sorry to hear about the stricture, but yes, it's fairly common, and can be taken care of without much issue in most cases.
As MsVickie says, stay away from any carbonated drinks, it can harm your pouch, especially in the early days. Also, they can act as triggers for cravings for unhealthy foods. You need to concentrate on the foods you need for healing and for helping the weight loss along, right now. Head hunger is very common at your stage.
Hang in there.
