Hi,
My name is Gary Butler. I'm new to this site. I'm currently 6 1/2 weeks post op from my RNY surgery. I've currently lost 82lbs with it and have 145 lbs to go. I'm looking for recipes that are high in protein and low carb, low fat and low low sugar! I'm permitted to eat whatever I want with the exception of raw fruits and veggies. Doc says need to wait until late January to start that. Really in need of recipes and protein drinks that aren't super sweet. I had several I loved pre - op and now I can't stand them. My beginning weight was 447 and I'm shooting for a 220lb goal weight. So drop me a line if you have any great protein shake ideas or recipes.
Thanks!

WELCOME GARY! Great progress so far! I know you will reach your goal soon and then pass it
I don't have any receipes but I just love Nectar brand protein in Chocolate truffle flavor(Vitamin Shoppe). It is so smooth and you can easily mix with water. I ran out but I believe it has 22 grams protein and 0 sugars and either 3 or 0 carbs. Cant remember. All I know is it is goooood..lol!
Well again welcome and big hugs♥

Gary, surf on over the Recipes forum. Dozens (hundreds?) of recipes there that meet your requirements, because they're from us. Many have been modified extensively to make them fit, but all you have to do is find some that you like.
Welcome to the RR family. Sounds like you're doing well! Good luck!!

Welcome! I'm Salli Lou. Yup...check out the recipe section. And experiment and then experiment some more. Some things will taste fine one day and and icky the next. Substitution on "regular" recipes is what I often do. Splenda is such a good invention!
You have done so wonderful. Keep it up and you WILL reach your goal.

Well again welcome and big hugs♥ | I have just completed all of my appts and met with my surgeon and will be having surgery sometime in January. I am so excited and can not wait to start feeling better physically. I had planned for 3 months to have the band and then changed my mind at the last minuate to have the bypass. I need a lot of support I am very nervious about the bypass. I think it will give me the results I am after but this surgery just really scares the mess out of me. Please let me know how you felt shortly after surgery.

Welcome Gary & thanks for joining us. You've done a stellar job thus far with your weight loss. Keeping up with the protein requirements & not getting tired of the sugary tasting protein shakes can be challenging. The recipes in our recipe section offer some great alternatives. I've started drinking more & more fruit smoothie shakes which seem to me to be less sweet.

Hi, and welcome you've come to a great site.. You 've done an awesome job and what you've lost As with the shakes I still drink at least one a day, I like others said like the choc truffle, but I have found one like better its by champion whey it's the stack, there choc, is great but they have a tropical sunrise and mix one of the crystal lite orange packets and it tastes like a orange dream bar even when mixed with water. Now I buy all my protein on line just google cheap what you are looking for as I can get them
as much as 10.00 or so cheaper, but if you want to try samples the Vitamin shoppe usually has samples of the nectar to try.
Good Luck.
Judy
