| Feeling Kind of Down
Hi All. I am feeling kind of down today, actually for a couple of days. The scales have not moved since last Thursday. I have been running. I know I should not be weighing myself daily. I just cannot help it. I have been eating some pasta. Not a lot, maybe 1/4 cup. 60 pounds is nothing to sneeze at in 3 1/2 months, but I thought I would be further than this. I wanted to be at 175 by Christmas. I guess that's not going to happen. Sorry to be whiny.

You're not being whiney. I know exactly how you feel. I know I shouldn't be on the scales daily but I can't help it. I am two weeks post op and haven't lost much and i'm getting discouraged. I thought I'd be farther out. I've lost about 24 pounds, 10 of which was pre-op. 60 pounds in 3 1/2 months is FABULOUS! Go You! I bet you feel so much better. I can't wait to get the green light from my DR to start working out. When were you able to work out? I'm eating pureed foods now. Not the best...sometimes I eat it regularly and chew chew chew chew until it's pureed then swallow because I can't stomache pureeing my food then eating it...YUCK. My mother in law had the surgery and told me not to be discouraged at plateaus. Don't worry, your weight loss will pick up again. Good Luck!

You will hit stalls and sometimes the scale just doesn't move. Weighing everyday is a bit much. We fluctuate due to fluid changes. I weigh in once a week. I hope you feel better soon. You've done a great job!

I have been walking since day 1. It is just in the last few weeks that I have started running. Maybe that's why the stall. I am down from a size 20 jeans, to a 12. From a 2X top to a large. I do feel good. My 15-year-old daughter thinks I look fabulous. I still cannot see it, unless I look at a picture of myself.

you just might get to 175 by Christmas. sometimes after a stall you'll get a large weight loss amount. the weight just starts to come off. this has happened to me so 5-6lbs by Christmas is not impossible. and even if it doesn't happen I'm sure you'll be at 175lbs by the new year. hang in there. you're doing great.

| You look great. Don't be discouraged, I think some people who don't have quite as much to lose to get to their goal typically lose a little slower. You WILL get there ! I don't know for sure how true this info is, but while I was on another program pre op I remember reading that walking is best for fat burning (walk at a pace that keeps you in your target heart rate) and that running actually burns off sugar. Maybe Doc will know if this is indeed true. Hang in there, you are doing great!

Give yourself a gift this year. Stay off the scale until Xmas day you might just get your wish.

Ahh, the dreaded stall.
Please be reminded, muscle weighs more per volume than does fat.
In other words, your body right now is trying to build your muscle for a more effective calorie burning machine to help your future maintenance. Don't ask your body to do a million things at once, it can only do so much at one time
Your program looks good, so just stick to it, and trust that your body knows best, not your brain/emotion.

Hi, that's right stay off the scale, but I think you are probably losing inches and that happens sometimes when we are in stalls, you've done a really great job. Just keep it up.

| Seems like you are doing great, I think sometimes our body needs a brief moment to catch up with the drastic weight loss, give yourself credit for the achievement you have so far and don't let the scale discourage you so much. C O N G R A T S to your weight loss so far!
