Cool New to Site

Hey everyone,

I didn't find a specific thread for newbies so I thought I would just start one and introduce myself.

My name is Christina and I just got my surgery date. January 19th, 2010.

Everyone keeps telling me, WOW! that's amazing! And i know it is but I don't think its really sunk in. I mean I've wanted this for so long and now I'm less than 5 weeks away and..well...I guess I'm a little overwhelmed. I know its the right decision. I don't have any questions in my mind about that but all of the changes that will take place, and they will happen so quickly, its just not real. I mean they tell me that I should lose about 100 pounds in the first 6-7 months. I can't remember the last time I weighed that much. It isn't a real number to me. Its like thinking of 1 billion dollars. You know its a lot but trying to get your brain to picture that much money in one spot.

Well, its going to happen and I guess my brain will just catch up when it can.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself a bit, I look forward to hearing from you and sharing with you.

Christina

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Christina - welcome to the site!
I hope you have a wonderful experience while here and I hope that everything goes well for you.
A year ago I never ever imagined that I would end up 100 pounds lighter but here I am, it has happened! I failed every single diet I was ever on. I have no regrets for having the surgery and am feeling better than I have in over 20 years. Best of luck to you.

Hi, and welcome this is just an awesome site, and congratulations on your upcoming surgery, it will be here before you know it. Yes I feel the same way I feel so much better since I did this and just last night while out walking the dog, a parent of my friends daughter saw me I said hi and she stood there and then had to tell her who I was, and what a feeling it was she didn't recognize me. But feeling so much better is the key my health is so much better now. Good luck on your journey.

Welcome, 'tina!! You are in for the ride of your life, and the hardest task you may ever have done. There's nothing easy about WLS, but it is far and away the most effective way I have ever heard of to drop massive amounts of weight. You'll earn every pound lost, and you'll also rejoice in each and every one gone!! This journey is far more you can appreciate from where you're standing now!

Your stats say that your goal is 200. You may think that that's an ambitious number, but once you get rolling, instead of losing 157 to get to 200, I think you're more likely to lose 200 to get to 157. It is very common to underestimate the power of this tool you will be receiving. (Notice my original goal, for example! I'd have even been happy to get to 200!!) As you get into it and follow the rules, your body will take over and bring you to where it's happy. All you can do is fasten your seat belt and hang on!!

Your stats also show that you have already lost your entire body weight. I doubt you would need WLS in that case! Maybe you could revisit them?

Again, welcome to the RR family. We offer you all the support you'll ever need along the way, because most of us have been down the road you're on.
