Hi All,
My surgery date was 12/5. I spent well over a year researching, being tested, planning, etc. Approx 1 week before the surgery, it was discovered that I had a huge kidney stone. After seeing a urologist who recommended not to have the surgery without addressing the stone, a decision was made to insert a stent into my kidney to stop the stone from moving while I was healing. I feel fine physically from the bypass, but the stent is extremely painful. I can't walk because it's so painful. Even taking a shower wipes me out and makes me nauseus from the pain. I have pain meds, but of course there are issues associated with taking them... ARRRRGGGGGG. Has anyone else had anything like this?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on joining the loser's bench, but I am sorry to hear about your kidney stone issues. Yes, there are some on board who's had trouble with kidney stones. Have you talked to your satisfaction with your urologist about the pain from the stent? If not, you should, and see if there are any options that you could choose.

(((((((HUGS))))))) May your journey go well.

Hi there...Yes Lisa i did have the same thing exactly. I only have one kidney so if there is a stone they is anywhere near big enough to cause blockage they want a stent placed. Almost a year ago i think it was February last year i had one placed. Let me tell you i have had many surgeries, the stent had to be the WORST pain i ever experienced. I feel so bad for you right now and honestly there was nothing i could do except medicate myself to rid the pain, i lived on percocet till they removed it and i yelled at the urologist that i will never ever ever allow them to place a stent again. They will have to find on operating room to do the lithotripsy right then and there. It felt best when i lay down with both feet elevated to relieve any pressure. Feel free to private message me or email me lisamarie0723@aol.com

Im sorry you are experiencing this. When do you have a lithotripsy scheduled?
