Welcome to the RR family!
As you wait for your big day, it would be a good idea to start converting yourself over to the way you'll be eating post-op. Develop those good habits now and when you need them after surgery (and have no choice but to change your ways) it'll be like picking up where you left off. Many people wait until they're recovering to switch over. They add another huge stress to an already stressed system.
Portion control is harder to work on without the surgical tool, but you can start separating your eating from drinking and other things. Chew everything until it almost runs down your throat and you don't even have to swallow it! This skill will be vitally important when you start using your teeth again as you heal. Eat slowly and actually
taste and
savor your food!!
Protein first, fruit and veggies second, carbs if there's room is your priority order for choosing what you eat. Even just eating healthier will give you some health benefits in the next few months. Check out our Recipes sub-forum for ideas on what works. There're a whole lot of great ideas there!
It's good that you have these next few months to get ready. You'll be eating this way for the rest of your life, so you might as well get started now!!
