It's about time that I introduce myself. I'm Aimee, 41, live in beautiful snowy cold Wisconsin and am married w/2 beautiful girls.
I moved in 2008 to a newer house when I was 8.5 months pregnant. After two weeks, I was placed on bed rest due to high blood pressure. I ended up having a C-Section gone horribly wrong and am now just feeling better after 17 months.
I started down the surgical path in 2005, and was denied 2 times by my insurance at the time. They required 6 months, and I hadn't done my piece. I started the 6 months and lost quite a bit of weight and then decided I could lose it all on my own. Silly me!
Of course I could lose the weight, maintaining was yet another story. I've gained most of it back and headed down the surgical path again in December 2009. My new insurance for 2010 does not require a 6 month diet, just records of previous failed attempts.
I'm just too darned young to feel this old. Knees hurt, hips hurt, etc. Luckily, I have no comorbidities due to my size. I am going into the surgery probably as healthy as possible, for which I'm extremely thankful.
I so need this for my kids- I have an 8 year old, who I've never taken sledding, and a 17 month old, that I can't play with on the floor.
Not to mention my husband of 10 years. He's thin, so he doesn't understand the weight loss attempts and problems, but he is looking forward to the fringe benefits that might come with weight loss.
I look forward to meeting you all!
Aimee
