Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

WELCOME!
All I can think of is to read alot ahead of time and get yourself mentally prepared with info on what you might expect to take place as far as the before and after surgery stuff (from your doctor), and also alot on here to educate yourself, so that you aren't taken by total surprise with procedures and such.

Some people have problems with the anesthesia things so maybe get that situated before going in.
Some people make sure they have all of their copies of the medical records with them so that if there is a gliche at the last minutes, you have all the documents necessary.
I have seen others who have wanted to take all kinds of things with them to the hospital and honestly in my own experience there isn't a whole lot of time to do much but sleep and walk and sleep and walk, They had me up on my feet a couple hours after surgery and walking every 2 hours until I left the hospital. I slept alot in between my walking.
I am happy and excited for you and wish you the best....

There is alot of info on here people have shared in the blogs if you do a search you can find all kinds of great info. to help you feel better prepared.
I think everybody goes through similar emotions as far as being nervous and such, but having the knowledge ahead of time really does help in that department.

Welcome. So glad you found us. This is a great site for info and support. Good luck on your life changing journey.

I was going to have lap band but had two doctors talk me into RNY and I am so happy they did. I am not at my goal set by the doctor but I think I am where my body wants to be, so I am happy where I am.

If you follow the plan given to you by the doctor and nut. you will do fine. Keep us posted and if you have any questions just ask. I bet you will get an answer. Read and learn all you can. Hang on for the ride of your life..

Congrats on your date. Before surgery I made sure my house was spotless so I didn't have to worry about a dirty house when I came home. That was a huge stress relief (cause my husbands not a reliable house cleaner). Other than that I say just make sure you've got the groceries your going to need for your step II diet for when you get home. And just take it easy. I'd brought things with to the hospital to do so I wouldn't be bored but quickly realized that I wasn't going to touch them. All I did in the hospital was sleep and walk for 5 days. Good luck with surgery. It's the start of a new you!!

Does your doc have support group, maybe you can get a session in prior to your arrival on the losers bench. Try to have a selection of things your doc wants you to consume for the first couple of weeks after your surgery. This was something I did for myself and although my wife is very supportive, I did not want her to feel she had to do anything extra for me. Remember to be active afterward and do as much as you can but no more than you should, you are healing. I had to remind myself to no over do it. Listen to your body.

Hi, well good luck to you too. We have less than 3 weeks to get things going. I may find you at a later date to see how you are doing. Maybe we can compare stories.
