As you saw in my "G-File"....and all the prayers...and support I received - is amazing! It was amazing for my eating (or not eating in this case!) and great for my spirit!!! The best part is we are ALL here for one another...and honestly it's the only way we all 'make it' thru!~ (esp. those that are here 800x a day!! you are sooo funny Kat!!) As you know, my name is Deborah. I'm married and 38yo., and have one daughter - who is 3yo. I am nearly 9mos post-op and have lost 124#....it's amazing!! I am sooo sooo thankful that I had this surgery - as like Debbie said...it is a BIG choice....but it was definitely the BEST CHOICE for me!!! I'm thrilled and feel great! I'm a size 14/16...and haven't been that in AGES!! Life is good.... If you have some extra time...and wanna read a LOT of crazy detail about my journey....you should check out my BLOG. Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Finally back Thank you all for making me feel at home. I am 56, too soon to be 57, in March. I was married for 28 years. Husband left and married a coworker. need I say more. I was divorced for 8 years and remarried a wonderful man, Eddie. We are very happy. I ahve 2 sons, 28 & 33 and a stepdaughter. 4 grandsons. 1 yr, 5 yrs and 2 10 yrs old. Love 'em, love 'em, love 'em. So my only problem is my weight. I was always athletic and after my divorce just did not care about anything, especially myself. Gained 60 lbs. I cannot do the things I enjoy and found that dieting like I used to does not work anymore. Nothing works anymore. SO I have made the decision to go for the gastric bypass. Should be in 6 - 8 weeks. I am in the process of getting ready for surgery. Visited my surgeon last I only have a couple of things to do yet. 2 pre op meetings with a nutritionist and doppler on my legs. I had a pulmonary embellism in 2002 so we are being extra cautious. Had 2 Dr's tell me they would not do it becasue of that but looks like I found one willing to go forward. Anyone out there have a problem with blood clots prior to surgery? I only had one that I know of and it went through my heart adn lodged in my lung. Sure would like to know what you guys think about this and if anyone else had this happen before surgery.
