Default Having my bypass on Monday Jan 22

Well, 5 months of hard work and now I am ready for my surgery!
My name is Valerie...I use to weigh 369 pounds....I lost 143 on my own doing the Atkins way of eating. I am unable to get down under 200 pounds and because of that and medical reasons (high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia and major depression) I have decided to have a gastric bypass.

My profile picture shows me at 269 pounds....that is the only large picture I could find. I am currently at 208.

Monday is my big day and I am scared.

Any help, advice, comments, suggestions are welcome

Thank you
Valerie****

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

HI VALERIE~!

FIRST off congratulations on the pre op weight loss. I believe and my surgeon does that that keeps complications down big time!!!

ITS an exicting journey and I know like me useing your ATKINS DANDR rules
you will be a huge success post op. BYPASS surgery eating is alot like atkins eating high protein and lo carb and getting your body into that fabulous fat burning ketosis state.

YOUR gonna be fine!
GOOD LUCK and best wishes for an uncomplicated surgery!
GLAD you found the board.......and ask away all questions.

DONT forget to pack chapstick for your stay in the hospitol!

hugs

Default Hello Valerie!

CONGRATS ON YOUR SURGERY DAY. It's perfectly normal to be scared to death. HEAVEN KNOWS, I WAS. Just keep thinking of all the positive things that are going to come your way afterwards. They are to numerous to mention. You will do well with everything. All of us were right where you are now, and were scared. This a great site, and take the time to post any questions, or fears you may have. We are here for you Valerie.
mike
p.s. You will be in my thoughts and prayers on Monday.

So very happy for you. I just found out Monday that mine will be the 26th of March. I too have a lot of pre- work to do. Just had an A1C of 10.9...not good so I am really going to buckle down, Maybe a try at Atkins again... God Bless you and good luck..

atkins before surgery is good as the rules of atkins are similar to the way of eating for a wls patient.
I used it for my required pre op weight loss and still follow what i learned when i did it other times......
good luck
