Cool Post op 9 days and counting

Hi everyone, I had surgery on Monday 1/8/07 and have a few questions. Did or is anyone having problems with their voice since surgery. My fades in and out and I can not laugther. Other then my husband finding it funny I was wondering if this is normal. Other then that I feel pretty good, suprisingly. Also, I heard the first month or two the weight loss is kinda slow is it safe to say this is true?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Welcome to the board, thank you for joining us.
Congratulations on joinng the Loser's Bench.
((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.

As for you voice, you may have inflammation of your vocal chords, as you would have had a tube down your airway for anesthesia and securing your respiration. Ask your surgeon about it, and see if he thinks it will eventually improve, or you need to be seen by an ENT dr.

People will lose differently, so no need to measure how you are doing against others. Let your body lose at its own pace, that's the safest.
Just follow your surgeon's instructions, and don't expeirment yet, that's the best guarantee for success.

Default Hey There Mrs!

CONGRATS ON BEING POST OP AND DOING WELL. You know, I had a sore throat for like 6 weeks after my surgery, and I was getting concerned. I asked my surgeon about it, and he told me that sometimes, like Doc said, it is from the tube going down your throat during surgery. I wouldn't fret, but to ease your mind, It wouldn't hurt to ask your surgeon.
As far as the weightloss thing, everyone is very different, and their bodies react different to everything. I, myself, did not find the slow weightloss to be true. I lost over 30 pounds my first month out, and a little less than that much, I do believe, during my second month. I don't believe, though, that it is abnormal for you. As long as you are doing what your surgeon tells you, you will do VERY WELL. HANG IN THERE KIDDO. We are here for ya with any other questions you may have.
