Thanks everyone for you encouraging words. Even when I dieted faithfully, I lost very slow and if I went off for a week, it ALL came back on. I will stick to the plan and know I am doing all that I can. I was and am hoping to lose 60 by 6 months, but maybe it won't happen. I will TRY not to play the numbers game! I know the weight didn't jump on my body over night and it will take time for it to come off too. I will let you know what I find out on the 30th! Thanks

Losing slowly, as long as you're doing what you're supposed to do, is not a bad thing. I too am losing very slowly. My doc says by losing so slowly I should have minimal sagging skin. So far so good there. Hang in there. As long as you follow pouch rules the weight WILL come off.

Right after my surgery (Jan 16, 2009) I was scared all I was going to lose was 20 pounds. It seemed like the weight wasn't moving, or at least not as fast as I thought it would "melt" off me. I was told that my body had just gone through some major changes & it needed time to adjust. (ALL very true) I stalled for a bit about a month out, then it started coming off about 5 pounds at a time. The scale would bounce back and forth a few pounds until it was a solid loss. I still worried Id never reach my goal.
I am almost 14 months out now, Ive never vomited, I do get nausea when I eat something with too much sugar content (my limit is around 6-7 grams), I can tolerate almost all foods, I really don't miss sugar, and my body actually craves the proteins and fruits. Before surgery I was so scared Id never be able to eat a lot of the foods I liked, today I am happy to say I am satisfied and never feel deprived.
I am very pleased that I did the surgery (gastric bypass here), I think it has to be the kindest thing Ive ever done for myself. I am down 102 pounds and have about 15 more to my goal weight. I am wearing clothing I never thought Id come close to being able to and now I am confident I will stay at this lower weight. It wasn't just a physical change for me, but a total change in body/mind/spirit.
Be patient grasshopper.... revel in each day and each step forward. Remember it is the course of nature to go 2 steps forward, 1 back, keep walking forward, you are so close to reaching the dream you are aspiring towards.

I weigh myself, but not daily and the weight has been coming off more slowly than it did during my pre-op diet. Sometimes I wonder if it is the because I am not getting enough calories? I counted and I am only getting about 500 calories per day (My surgeon has a V-E-R-Y slow progression of intake post-op and I am still only on full liquids.
But, in the past during my many attempts at dieting, I would have been discouraged by this and thrown in the towel. But now, I am not feeling hungery, I feel strong and energetic and I know that I am taking care of my body. So, everytime I see that the scale has not moved, I just laugh. Its so preposterous that no weight would come off with 500 calories a day that I know my body is just adjusting and will eventually let it go.
My favorite bit of advice to give for any situation: Hang in there.

As long as you are feeling good I wouldn't fret about how fast it comes off. The main thing is that we get healthy and as the weight comes off we are able to enjoy life and be able to do things that weren't able to do before. It is kinda like putting money in the bank and watching it grow with compound interest. The healthier we get the happier we become

It is so normal to feel this way! Everyone on this site is so helpful and their advice is right on! I felt I wasn't losing fast and I even was weighing myself multiple times a day like a maniac! But stay with it, it will pay off. I am six and half months out and just LAST MONTH people started to say, You Look Great....so be patient!

The good thing about this web site is the support and seeing how well people have done.
The bad thing about this site is getting caught up comparing your weight loss with everyone else.
We are all different and we will all loose weight at different rates. Regardless of that, the key words in that last sentence is that "we will all loose weight".
From what you are telling us you are doing everything right. You have no health reactions, no serious illnesses, dizziness, dehydration, severe vomiting, bleeding etc.
If your surgery didn't take you wouldn't be content on the little you have been eating. You would be consuming what you ate before you started this journey.
We all want immediate results but you must remember that it took you years and years to get into the shape you were in and here you are less than 2 months out and already lost what probably took you a year to put on.
I always say here that the scale can become our enemy during this process. If you left off weighing yourself and was patient to wait until your doctor;s appointments to get on the scale, you would be posting here how unbelievably happy you are to have lost so much weight between visits.
All my best wishes. Trust me all your concerns will be forgotten in time.
