Unhappy worried about not losing fast enough

As for what different doctors say...I was on clear liquids for 3 days, full liquids 7 days, pureed food for 2 weeks, soft foods for 1 week and then eat high protein low carb low sugar foods that I can tolerate. I have not once felt like I have over ate. Never have barfed or got the foamies or dumped. I worry my surgery didn't take! I don't feel I have lost as quickly as most of you on here seem to have. I haven't gotten on the scale since Jan 28th and I go back to weigh on March 3oth. I guess I will see then. But I am worried! Everyone on here talks about dropping sizes rapidly and such. My clothes before surgery were so tight I looked and felt like a stuffed sausage. I am a little over 2 months out and they are just now starting to fit comfortably and a little loose. I drink protein 2 times a day and eat more protein at supper and that is all I have everyday. I am getting all my water and vitamins in and walking at work on break and getting to the Y a couple times a week in between my 2 jobs. If I get on that scale and haven't at least dropped 40 total, I will be devastated. Ok...I am done whining! Thanks for reading and sympathizing. I love you guys!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I bet you are going to be very suprised at your weigh in in a few weeks! You seem to be doing everything right. I am four months out and although I have lost 60 lbs, my clothes are just starting to get to be too big for me. For awhile, I felt like everyone else was telling me I had lost weight, but I couldnt really tell myself. Good luck!

Clothes sizes don't seem to drop that quickly the first couple of months, give it a bit more time.
You sound like you are doing everything you should, so don't fret over your weight. Your body's going to do what it needs to do in its own time, not on your mind's time, so just go along with the wild ride that you are on.
(((HUGS))) You're doing fine.

Persistence will eventually show you the results. In away it doesn't matter how other people's bodies react. Your body is doing it its way. Trust that the weight will come off and keep up the good work.

sweetie, this is not an overnight process or even a 3 mo/6mo one..it's a LIFETIME process. Everyone loses at different paces. So just remember this. We all wanted it to happen overnight and there are some silly people in the world who think when we have this surgery it's an overnight process like plastic surgery..wake up and wa la you're thin! ha!

We lose, for some even beyond the 2 years mark to get to 'goal' Some reach their 'goal' quickly in that 6 mos period. and others take the full year to 2 years.

everyone is different! But at the END of it...we all DO lose the weight.

Just keep on track with what you are doing..walk, drink your WATER...staying hydrated is MUCH more important than the food post op..MUCH more!

I know exactly how you feel. I don't weigh myself either. But I don't feel like I'm losing as fast as everyone else. Right after surgery I noticed some loss but it sure seems slow now.

Your doing great! I'm over 7 months out and am still VERY SLOWLY losing weight. Since the middle of Jan til now I have only lost about 5 lbs...but I've gone down another notch in my belt. One of the girls I know that had surgery was below her goal by this time and she had more to lose than me. Our bodies are all different and the weight will come off the way It's s'posed to as long as we stick to the rules.

Yeah, I've been slow and steady the whole time and I'm 8 months out. My sister had her surgery Dec 1st and she's just about to pass me in pounds lost. Dec 4th 2009 I was 200 lbs. Today I'm 187, that's 13 lbs in 3 months. Don't fret, it will come off; besides I don't have alot of hanging skin since I'm losing slower. People tell me "wow, you're face is still pretty, we were sure you'd look sick by now." I don't know if thats compliment or not, but I'll take it as one lol! You're doing great. One thing I've learned, thanks to BreeChick, is not to play the numbers game: feeling great is such a terrific reward. Good health is even a better one!

This is very encouraging to me your note. I too have had no nausea, vomiting, or dumping and I am 2 weeks out. I am also not getting this full feeling everyone is talking about? I thought maybe I was the only one. And in 2 weeks I have only lost 10 pounds. I am doing everything they tell me to do. I had a really hard time when dieting as well losing weight My body never seemed to want to let go of it?

I completely agree w Gee Ma. Many of my family also thought I'd look sick after losing so much weight but since I'm losing slower I don't have as much extra skin (don't get me wrong I still have enough lose skin to consider a tummy tuck).
And at only 2 weeks out you still losing all of the fluids that were pumped into you during surgery. I gained 13lbs when I came home and it takes awhile to lose all of that...give it time...this is def not an overnight process but it will come.
