| Help please Doc!!
As you know I hae been having my problems, well since coming home I have been eating x6 times a day and drinking much more, my blood sugars have been ok, within range, but I am still having dizzy spells, and at those times I test my Blood sugars but they were ok, well I figure that it maybe my bloodpressure so I have now bought a BP machine and as of today I am going to monitor it, my readings this morning were...101/61 pulse 73 this was lying in bed before getting up..... 5 mins later I took it standing up and it was 92/78 pulse 125 ???
Im no doctor, but I know that my BP shouldn't drop when I stand as I was told that before, I am going to record my findings along with what food and drink and blood sugars measurements etc so that the endricinologist can get a better look at what my body is up to, if you have any idea's I would greatly appreciate it doc..
Luv Frustrated Angie x

It's orthostatic hypotension, otherwise known as postural hypotention, and quite common with weight loss patients, as a matter of fact, it's come up from time to time in threads and posts before.
Your circulatory system still hasn't adjusted completely from your weight loss. You had a lot of blood vessels to cover your body when you carried a lot of weight, but those arteries and veins haven't yet shrunk completely, so you have a lot of *space* where the blood can flow through. This will show up as the low blood pressure, and the rapid heart rate is to make up for the low pressure. Your body is still lagging in adjusting the blood pressure that's appropriate for the position you changed to.
Get up slowly, and start your movements slowly, that will help you adjust. Also exercise and increase your muscle mass, as that will help with the low blood pressure, too.

Hang in there Angie girl. It takes time to get it all on an 'even keel' as they say. The BP stuff is certainly a pain for sure. I still have the get up too quick drops and have gotten close to falling back down many a time.
You do learn over time to not get up so fast ...but it doesn't, or hasn't at least for me improved whatsover over time. You just learn to live with it.
