I'm doing great. Still a little sore. I need to ask a question about bruising? My doctors 2 hours out. So I thought I'd ask here.
I've developed a bruise about the size of a apple on the bottom right side of my belly.Of course I don't remember hitting anything. but I'm kinda wondering if I should get this looked at. I've had it 3 days. How long do bruises normally take to dissipate?

I just looked around and I found out, that lovenox has a side effect of spontaneous bruising. Did anyone have this problem? and how long does it take to dissipate?

Yes I had that also. I had Lovnox with all my surgeries and I had the same bruising. It took weeks for it to go completely away but it will in time. Kinda looks like someone used a baseball bat. lol

The effect is to prevent blood clots, so yes, you can get spontaneous bleeding. It's administered because there's a higher rate of deep vein thrombosis developing if you are overweight, and in fact, it's one of the most frequent life threatening complications during and immediately after surgery.
Once the effect wears off, you won't get any more bruises.
