Default Panic stations

Hi everyone,
Yes I'm in panic mode, I haven't lost anything in 8 days running, not a thing. Op was on 5 March 2010, back home 8th March, by 9th I had lost almost 10lbs and then absolutely nothing since. What is going on with my body, maybe my pouch is too big, I'm starting to wonder if I had a RNY done at all, maybe something went wrong. I've cut down on my snacks, I'm eating very little and still no weight loss. Has this happened to anyone else so soon after being operated on. I thought I would loose more weight in the first months than the later months. Please help!

Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Your body is still recovering from the surgery. A stall is not unusual at all. Chances are, your body is still in shock from the surgery and from the small amount of food it's allowed to have now. But don't stop eating out of fear of gaining! Your body will go into starvation mode and it will hold onto everything, if you do. Just continue to follow the rules. Eat your protein, take your vitamins, drink your water...etc. It WILL start moving again. Just hang in there. This is like a really cool roller coaster ride. Sometimes you're up, sometimes you're down....sometimes the cart gets stuck on the track...but it's all a process. Keep following the rules and when the ride is over, you'll be amazed at how far you've come!!

Thanks everyone for your very encouraging possitive feedback, I will indeed hang in there and hopefully this time next week the pounds will be pealing off. At least now I feel reassured that there is nothing wrong with my stomach I just need patience.

Calm down, you just had MAJOR surgery only two weeks ago!!!
Give your body the time to heal. I don't mean your skin incisions, I mean your insides. Even if the scars are a few wee scars where you can see, inside has gone through a MAJOR upheaval, a MAJOR reconstruction that will take 3-4 months to finally calm down and readjust and realign. In the meanwhile, your body needs a lot of rest, and can only plod along. I mean, if you were black and blue all over your tummy, would you panic that you weren't losing weight? I bet not, I bet you'll sit tight and wait until all the black and blue fades away. And that is just what's going on inside your right now--all black and blue.
Let your body rest, let your body get in the nutritents--most importantly protein--that it needs to HEAL. Once that's done, your weight loss will start moving more smoothly.
At the stage you are right now, the WORST thing you can do to yourself is to obsess over the scale not moving. You MUST throw out your scale, and weigh only at your surgeon's office. No place else.

In a year from now, you will be amazed at where you are. Trust your surgeon.
(((HUGS)))

Hang in there...I also had my surgery on March 5th. After I came home from the hospital I was losing a lb a day, now nothing but I'm going to trust what everyone says that it will start back up again. Good luck!

Wow Askopec op same day as me and you have already lost 22lb you must be over the moon even if you have started stalling. Well as for me the doc and all of you ladies are correct I have to stop obsessing over my weight and let my body heal. I will start doing that from now on and just keep on following the rules. Thanks everyone for all you kind and reassuring words. I love this forum and I love speaking to you guys.
