Hi everyone! I just wanted to say hello and am glad to have you guys! Looking forward to getting to know everyone! And being able to ask questions like "my surgery was 40 days ago and I have only lost 20lbs, is that normal?"

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Default I have no idea what is normal..laughing

My surgery was 23 days ago and I have lost only 20 pounds. So not sure if there is a normal when it comes to all this. Did you gain weight after the surgery from your presurgery weight from all the IV they gave you? What I have heard here over and over again is that everyone's body is different and that there is a stall in loss during the first month for some people. I am just trying to follow the rules and pray for the best. I just try to envision 20 pounds of butter all lined up and say wow that came off me? That helps me to be proud of what I have lost instead of focusing on what I havn't.

Hi and welcome to our group , I am sure you will enjoy all the benefits to help you withyour journey....As for your weight loss , we all lose at a different pace...your body is goign thru alot after major surgery , it took me two weekd to even drop any weight..I think if i recall right Ilost 25 lbs in about 40 days...so your right in there...you will find you will weight and go for a period of time ( for me a coupke weeks usually ) and then lose weight once again...reason being your body has to to ctach up with the weight loss...during that time you will notice you clothes getting loser and the scales not moving , its all a normal process....hang in there and hol don for the ride of your life , Hugs , Annie!

PS: How you feeling since your surgery ?

I guess it's all a normal process then. It's just frustrating when you don't know if this is the way it's supposed to be. I've only lost 20lbs since the surgery but I've gone down a pant size so I guess patience is what I need to have. I just kept thinking what if the doctor did something wrong?!?! Which is silly because I have a wonderful doctor! I have felt great since my surgery, which kinda scared me to. I haven't had any of the problems a lot of other people have had. It's been 40 days since my surgery I haven't found a type of food that I have any issues with. Haven't thrown up, haven't dumped. The only thing I notice is my energy level and of course the amount of food I can eat. But even that feels like I can eat to much.
Just want this to be successful!!

I did gain like 9lbs right after surgery, but it was gone in like three days. And your right, I should also try to focus on what I've lost, not what I haven't!

Default I too have had no problems

I was thinking the same thing..laughing..Thinking was it done wrong..why havnt I had any foods I cant have..no dumping, no vomiting...and feeling just the low energy...so you are not alone...

But the sugar it does not like me. Had some syrup and pain ..so now I know...

You are doing great! You should be so proud of yourself...and I keep reading everyone else's journey and the thousands of pounds that have been lost and thinking this is going to happen for me and you too! We will be shopping in the Misses isle soon as one man said to me.. I like that idea...

So keep sip sip sipping with me and we will be the hot babes in nice bathing suits minus the skirt one day!

Haha your so funny! My cousin keeps telling my I'm a sexy mama! I keep tell her "you just wait!" I am so glad to hear you haven't had much food aversion. I don't have any problem with sugar. I don't typically eat a lot of it anyway, I have used splenda for a long time, but I did have a couple bites of my chocolate birthday cake last night, and didn't have any problems.... We'll be sitting at the beach in no time!!!!!!!

20 lbs in 40 days is a LOT sweetie. There are not many people in this world that could have lost that on their own in 40 days, you know? Pus there is, whether you realize it or not you still have swelling from having had major surgery. It takes some time to go down and all the IV fluids flush out.

Walk each day, drink the water! water! water! LOL..Water!

You're doing great! isn't it wonderful to have others out just a bit ahead of you to get some perspective?

and remember the weight doesn't come off overnight! its a year and for some 2 yrs progress to get where they want to be. It's gonna be chunks and sometimes stair steps and sometimes it's gonna suddenly Whoosh! then stall out for weeks until you 'think' you are done, but you are not! then it starts up again just when you about gave up on yourself!

Congratulations! and welcome to the wonderful journey of WLS life! It's a wonderful gift!
