Hello Everyone,
I am just a day over 2 weeks since my surgery and searching the web for answers to the emotional piece and feeling exhausted. You all are a God-send! What a great site. I too, am very weepy, tired, and know I need to exercise, but even the little I do gives me spagetti legs. I need to increase my protien, nausea and fullness has made that difficult to get all required grams in. I just ordered Unjury. Hopefully this will help, more protien per volume. Any helpful hints to get through this rollercoaster ride??? Being able to have soft solids has helped a little, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!!.

Exercise is important however it is not as important in the beginning as you think it is. It is important to be mobile, to rid yourself of gases, to not become complacent but your body and mind need to make adjustments.
If you didn't exercise regularly and much in the years leading up to your decision to have wls, then starting a regular program of exercise may not be right for you now. In other words, you could fail at starting something you were not comfortable with previously.
In time and as each week passes, you certainly need to increase your daily activities and you will find that you will naturally do more and with greater energy simply because you find more strength and have a greater ability to take on more physical things than you did in the years leading up to this.
I suggest that your hormones are playing with your mind right now. DOn't dwell on it, distract yourself.
Someone in another thread talked about going back to work and how long one should take off.
I found that by returning as soon as possible (sooner than the doctor might recommend) I was too distracted with responsibility to worry about any small aches or pains or to dwell on how I felt. Before I knew it, another day had gone by and I had little to complain about.
It is like a child getting a little "ouch" and distracting him (or her) with something else. In reality the pain or inconveniences you are feeling are not that great and with a little distraction they will be easily ignored.
Of course I have a fairly high tolerance for pain and prefer to ignore it than worry about it.
Best of luck, in short time this will be nothing more than a memory with no negative lasting effect.

the best exercise you can do right now as you're so early out is just walking. Plus walking is something you need to do each day, it's great for stress relief and thinking time or just 'me time' you know?
Water water water...you'll get all shakey if you don't have enough water on board, the protein is a slow work up you can't just force it down all at once early on. Hydration is the most important thing.
Many find they just invest is a good water bottle to carry with all the time and a great thing to have (they have 'em cheap at wal mart) is a watch with a countdown timer so your can get a good hang of the not eating/drinking at same time.
When you're able to do more solid type of food you'll find you are more satisfied feeling..
Hang in there it's just the early out adjustment time and it DOES all get better!

| Breechick is so right, the water is the most important thing, then do a couple of minutes of walking 3-4 times a day and build up on your time.
I just went through what you are going through three weeks ago, my surgery was only 5 weeks ago. I had such dark times, I do not even want to tell you what I thought of. I also became some what hysterical for doing this to myself. I am great now and very happy with myself that I did do the surgery. The people on the site have helped emensley.
Also make sure you are getting in your vitamins they are really important to your mood and recovery.
Welcome and keep us up todate with how you are progressing.
